with all of the hype about this iWatch, if Apple doesn't announce it tomorrow they could have 4GB of memory in the iPhone 6 and no one would care lol

The article says: P2B = prototype stage, EVT = engineering validation test stage. Again: we obviously see two different device housings. My guess is, the light blue circles in the ”BCM coil route” picture are the cut-outs for the sensor module and are of the same size as the circular cut-out in the ”rounded rectangle” housing (which makes the latter the smaller one).

Good catch. I don't think the proportions are right for the light blue circle to be the size of the circular cutout. The rest of the BCM would be too big to fit into the housing if that were the case. I'd think either the entire BCM fits in that cut out, or the inner circle (just under the yellow rectangles) fits in there. BCM = Battery Control Module?

My question is, can the device be waterproof with a speaker and a microphone on it? Do underwater cameras have speakers on them? Microphones?

Of course. Samsung's Galaxy S5 is waterproof several feet underwater. It doesn't work underwater because the touch screen won't function but it should be fine as soon as you take it out of water.

maybe insert water resistant in place of waterproof?

It's not too far off

I found another schematic, from 1984, with functional icons. Will all the complainers buy it now based on this?

I'd still be surprised if we see it tomorrow! I suppose we could have an early unveiling similar to the Original iPhone... but it just feels like parts leaks should be out the wahzoo by now.

I'm one of those people that can live with a days battery life. A bigger battery is always welcome, but I don't mind chargin my stuff every night

I rather hope it's wireless charging. I get annoyed enough dealing with my bluetooh headphones. I would happily accept being able to take off my watch and toss it on a plate to charge. no fumbling to open some side port etc. Double if my iPhone could be tossed on the same plate to charge.

I would also love to see Apple work in some kind of kinetic charging as well. It would be a great feature to offset the battery issue and create a system that together might last a day even for those that don't want to take their watch off because of some sleep monitoring feature. Kinetics power it during the day when they are moving and battery at night (if the kinetics could even run and recharge the battery at the same time that would be a killer feature)

Two bodies

I don't see your logic here, the first pic is of the internal sensor hole both round and labelled as both P2B and EVT, then the second pic shows two square housings again labelled as P2B and EVT.

I don’t think so. Look at the thin outline in the ”BCM coil route” picture: this is the outline of a (circular) housing with connectors for the armband on top/bottom. The light blue circle in the middle probably represents the sensor module area which you see as a cut-out in the blurry photo of the rounded rectangle body.

Meaning: legit or not – we obviously see schematics of two different ”watch” bodies here.

Meh

Meh, if this is even a hint at what the final iWatch will look like, then Apple is on the wrong track IMHO. Certainly this will not make Switzerland sweat as Jony suggests.

I just don't think shrinking the tablet form factor for design or UI is the right course of action for a Smart Watch, and this looks like a small iPhone 6 in a wrist size form-factor.

Also if Apple wanted to be remotely groundbreaking they would have adopted a round watch face. The Moto 360 might have its issues, but it looks like a watch, not a mini-tablet. Also the curved band smart watches coming from Samsung and Sony are far more advanced and modern looking.

Could all be wild speculation but its the first thing I have seen leaked that leads to any suggestion this is what the iWatch will look like and that its actually going into production.

That 20m rating is deceiving. In reality, that means the watch would only be able to survive minor splashing. Swimming with the watch on would be a no-no, as the forces subjected to the watch would be greater than the 20m resistance. Even a showerhead produces forces much greater than a 20m-rated watch could survive. Here's a little guide I found after a quick search describing the different water resistance ratings found on watches.

Oh yeah, just read that piece. In that case, I hope it's not the case!

I'm pretty sure we are seeing it, we don't have parts because it's not in production yet, remember Apple announce new products far in advance as there's no cannibalisation of current gen hardware.

sapphire glass has been reported for the iwatch only this is apples way of testing it for future devices.

There is a logic to that notion. Apple did a similar move with Touch ID. putting it in one model of the iPhone may have been a test of the tech before going pull blast.

Apple inviting fashion reporters to this event is still the unknown for me. What are fashion reporters needed for if all Apple has done is resurrected the 6th gen iPod nano with straps.

I think everyone will forget what it looks like once you see what it can do. The features will make case studies for people and developers to get them and do all sorts of new things.
Remember, this not just some dumb wristband for showing notifications. It will be a new platform to develop for thus, lots of apps!
