I'm hoping for a circular design that actually resembles a watch, but some how creates an OS that makes use of a spherical display better than the moto 360. So far the moto 360 is the best looking smart watch on the market.

Leaking a day before announcement I don't think is controlled. In fact it's stupid it does nothing.

The slow leaks that we have been getting over iPhone 6 however, serve a purpose. Instant customer feedback, as well as general excitement over a product that hasn't been released yet.

What excitement or anticipation does a really crappy drawing bring, went tomorrow we'll see anyway.

Or this is controlled misinformation.

To be fair, Apple have managed to exceed my expectations a few times, but not for a while.

After seeing new impressive (and strong) flexible display tech, as well as wireless charging (WiTricity) that can charge a device from up to 2 meters away, I was expecting Apple to make use of these technologies.

Apple have had a lot of time/money to come up with something truly impressive, but for the last few years all we have seen are slight variations on what is already available.

iMac -> 1998
iPod -> 2001
iPhone -> 2007
iPad -> 2010

They have always taken their time to innovate. For the most part, they've always presented variations of what already existed. They're still on track though, so let's give them a chance; regardless of the design, which comes down to personal preferences and availability of technology at a realistic price point, I'm sure they are not going to release a watch just for the sake of releasing it.

I think the iWatch will be packed with great ideas...not sure if they will get it right on the first try or whether they'll need another iteration, but I'm sure they know what they are doing.

Maybe I am old and that's why I don't get it but what is with the "my body is ready" comments. What the hell does that mean?

“My Body is Ready” is a catchphrase mainly associated with image macros wherein the subject is posing in a seductive manner or smiling creepily, similar to the usage of “Draw Me Like One of Your French Girls.” In discussion forums, the phrase is often used to humorously convey one’s excitement or anticipation towards the impending arrival of a desirable object or an event. The expression may be also used in counter-response to other Internet colloquialisms like Prepare Your Anus.

Origin

The phrase was originally uttered by Nintendo executive Reggie Fils-Aime during the company’s demonstration of Wii Fit at the E3 press conference held on July 11th, 2007. As Japanese game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and translator Bill Trinen unveiled the Wii Balance Board, Fils-Aime walked up onto the stage and stated “My body…My body is ready” before stepping onto the accessory to start the demonstration.

Yes, how do you think underwater cameras work now? but as someone pointed out before there is a difference between waterproof and water resistant

I`m starting to think you cannot read....or you do not read before you reply. Please read.

1. There is never a mention of a camera in the article. There is never a mention of water resistance in my questions either.
2. My question is not about the camera. You brought up the selfies hence camera.

My question is, can the device be waterproof with a speaker and a microphone on it? Do underwater cameras have speakers on them? Microphones?

So the iWatch is gonna be a thick square block like every other smart watch on the market for the last 3 years...

...exept the Moto 360, that one actually looks really nice.

Yes. Too bad it also runs like a slug. Stuttery interface. Occasional freezes. Battery that's dead by the afternoon.

It really is too bad. Moto needs a winner.

two watches shown here.... one square (smaller) watch, then a larger round watch (bcm pictures).
Larger Watch (Circular)
Smaller Watch (Square)
/QUOTE]

What you said is the larger, circular watch is a part that goes inside what you said was the smaller, square watch. The two sizes are indicated as P2B (smaller) and EVT (larger). The EVT BCM coil Kapton (circuit board? wireless charging?) seems to indicate that the larger model won't just be larger in size, but offer more features as well.

The article says: P2B = prototype stage, EVT = engineering validation test stage. Again: we obviously see two different device housings. My guess is, the light blue circles in the ”BCM coil route” picture are the cut-outs for the sensor module and are of the same size as the circular cut-out in the ”rounded rectangle” housing (which makes the latter the smaller one).

Just saying...

But then there's no reason for anything to leak of the iWatch... Apple can keep things 100% secret if they just choose to release it a few months after the announcement and keep it internal within the walls of Apple.... Just like with the first iPhone and iPad... So, I would expect leaks way before the announcement... or after it... Just not one day before it..

Nice until you try to read more than one sentence. Apple is avoiding the round screens for the same reason they avoided 16:9 on the iPads. Sometimes form must follow the function and anything but a rectangle is worthless for images, text and apps in general.

If its a square/rectangle I honestly will be disappointed. I will definitely grab the iPhone6, the large one but this vs the Moto360 with the steel band, no brainer to me - it is suppose to be a "fashion" accessory after all.

Yeah, but you wouldnt be able to use your moto 360 with your iPhone 6

pogiboi is right: clearly schematics of two different device housings, the chubby ”square” one and a circular one. Nobody else sees that?

I don't see your logic here, the first pic is of the internal sensor hole both round and labelled as both P2B and EVT, then the second pic shows two square housings again labelled as P2B and EVT.

So, why don't you get the Moto 360 then since you're so inclined on it apparently?

Indeed, it looks nice. Of course, it runs 'Droid, a somewhat unoptimized version at that, so it's useless to me. I just love how Apple comes out with this hard-edge, chamfered design language, everyone and their supplier copies it and then Apple about-faces (or so it appears they will). Guarantee In 18mo everyone will have round-edged tech gadgets. Just in time for iPhone 7 to come out.
