really, where is it? I have a 3GS w/ old bootrom and when I inputed my firmware for my 3GS it doesn't show the custom boot logo option anywhere???
 
So what isn't compatible yet? I keep getting springboard crashes. removed almost everything that hasn't been updated lately. any popular ones not working?

ok, it was the iblacklist version i had.

My first attempt with pwnage tool failed. I had selected activate the phone and left the Tmobile sim in, it failed with a 1600 error. I then rebuilt the custom Ipsw put an old ATT sim in and chose do not activate the phone and it installed in five minutes without any issues. I unlocked with ultrasn0w successfully and set up as new. I am now in the process of syncing apps, music etc.

Well done Dev team for a great effort. I am happy to be on 4.1 and with a successful unlock.
 
should i do this if im already jb my iphone4 on 4.1 with limera1n using tu to stay with 1.59 baseband???

It's not there. I've tweeted MuscleNerd about it. There's no reason those of us who've kept our 3GSes on the train all these months shouldn't be rewarded with the same functionality we had in 4.02.

If you already have 1.59 then no. If not PT wont downgrade basebands. It will allow you to keep a previous one though. PT pre JB the firmware so you odn't have to upgrade to an official FW. But with tiny umbrella being able to keep the BB from upgrading not a whole lot of difference, before PT was the only one. But PT is still alot more stable.

So what's different about this compared to limera1n? Should I be using this instead?
 
Is it possible with PwnageTool 4.1 to have custom boot logos for the iPhone4? Is it only possible with the iPhone 3G and old bootrom 3GS?
 
as much as I've liked pwnage in the past, it's a shame that you still have to restore your phone. The pdft exploit and geohot's previous versions were so nice so you don't have to redo all your settings.

That's like saying that it's a shame you have to shift your brand new Ferrari by hand when your Ford Focus had an automatic transmission.
 
I have a question about pwnage tool. If I remember correctly, if you have AT&T, you UNCHECK "Activate Phone," right?
 
I'm trying to restore with the custom firmware but the progress bar on my iPhone 4 stops right before it reaches the end. I've left it alone for about an hour now but it doesn't finish. Any help guys?

Edit: Seems that wifi-sync was the problem, deleted it and my phone restored just fine :)
 
Question with this now My dad has a never unjailbroken 3GS I showed him the MyWi app and thought it would be nice to have cause he travels alot and would save him buying wifi airport time etc. anywhoo can he Jailbreak from 4.1 now? with no previous JB's

YES. Many options. Use Pwnagetool, Limera1n or Greenpo1son.
 
i was reading a HOW TO file and it says i need some kind of bootloader file? can some one please explain in simple steps how to do this ? thanks
 
HELP! I created the custom ipsw but when I tried to restore with itunes I get a 1600 error and now I can't take the phone out of recovery mode. it's just blank
Any ideas?

EDIT: I got the phone out of recovery but I kept getting error 1600

EDIT2: Never mind, got it to work. I was putting the phone in DFU the old way (manually) and not with the app. My bad :)
