Extremely Disappointed with shipping options
I have never waited in line for a launch product, and I am not a big giant Apple head. I waited patiently for the 2nd incarnation because I really wanted to take advantage of the cameras and Facetime. I ordered online thinking that I would rather wait a couple of days then stand in line for 8 hours, but now I am extremely disappointed with this whole ordering process.
I ordered my ipad at 3:50am on Friday, and here it is almost 5 days later and it is still in ALASKA!!!??? Apple offered no option for upgrading to expedited shipping, for which I was willing to pay extra. This whole launch feels like it was thrown together in about 10 minutes with no real planning or foresight. I will eventually get mine at the end of the week, but this process sucks Apple!!! Please go back and rethink this one before your next launch. You really screwed the pooch on this one.

You've got a leg up on me. I'm in the same boat ordering-wise; not a big Apple guy, waited for the 2nd gen for Skype more than anything else. Order processed at 3:55am Eastern on Friday so I wouldn't have to wait in any lines. Mine isn't even processed for shipping. Just a big fat NYS. I'd be glad to trade that for stuck in Alaska...

I ordered 4.12 am EST I would have gotten earlier but my internet was resetting and so I ordered from my phone
Obviously, some of us are getting 2-3 day shipping and priority shipping by calling CS (mine hasn't even been prepared to ship yet, so it will help), so I don't know why they couldn't just offer it in the first place. I was going to pay for overnight.

Ordered IPAD WI-FI 3G 64GB BLACK-USA at 1:45 am on march 11 and still sitting in the "NOT YET SHIPPED" category! Soooooo frustrated! Also ordered grey smart pad cover and black leather one. I'm being a bit optimistic, but there were several fellow Pennsylvanians whose iPads made it to Indianapolis last night and were delivered today. I'm holding out hope. Thursday's a definite, Wednesday's hopeful.

Hmmm there are a lot of people whose iPad left at 4:02 that live in NY and PA, but also a couple who live more southern. Does it seem more like it's actually an anchorage to Memphis flight then rather than to Newark?
