if you have a legit reason to call then i say go for it.... they're trying to appease the masses and keep us from calling again, lol. plus after 24 hours i'd like to see my ipad get out of alaska! there have been plenty of flights!

Well here's to being optimistic with you. Mine is apparently on its way to Memphis tonight coming to Texas. I'm not very hopeful on my part because they are apparently stretched and let them sit in Anchorage overnight for a reason. But I hope you get lucky and get yours tomorrow. In fact I hope all the nice people on here get theirs tomorrow. Maybe the whiners could wait another week though. :D

I live about 3.5-4 hrs northwest. My est. delivery is still Friday by 4:30. I'm hoping for tomorrow but expecting Thursday.

When they screwed up my Macbook Air order in the fall 3 times, I wound up canceling and they gave me a free 8gb iPod Touch 4th gen. The inconvenience of a 3-week fiasco warranted it.

I say, go for it! I don't think it's too much to ask for a smartcover that probably costs $1.25 to make from a multi-billion dollar company if you are in fact being screwed over.

Fedex does a lot of flights at night. Someone who lives in Atlanta had theirs delivered today after having landed in TN the night before. It's 6 1/2 to 7 hours drive from Memphis to Atlanta. I think its probable that yours could be out for delivery tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then definitely Thursday.

My iPad is currently on a flight from Alaska to Tennessee. I'm hoping it'll be in my hands tomorrow :)

You'd be a whiner too if yours was still "not yet shipped" after ordering at 12:45 am PST 3/11 while watching other "engravers" get theirs and ordered hours after.
 
Mine just moved! Left anchorage for Indiana a bit ago. I should've called apple earlier this afternoon, it seems though! I'll just buy a cover like everyone else tomorrow though :)
 
Does anyone remember which Apple "i" release that saw tracking information not being update and then jumping to the end point?

i can't remember if it was iPad 1, iPhone 3GS, or iPhone 4

I just wish it would at least change status to preparing to ship or even better... shipped! I called the day after I ordered my I pad to order a smart cover in leather and he said it would be 2-4 weeks so I said never mind and he was great he said if you order the leather now and wit I'll kick in the basic one for free, so I did, and it came today! I thought that was great!

I think mine is on that flight as well. I'm about 3 hours south of Chicago. At least Indianapolis is closer than Memphis, but I'm really thinking it's going to be Thursday. With the flight not landing until midnight, and them loading the delivery trucks so early in the morning, it's probably doubtful it can get out that fast.

But I really hope I'm wrong!

It was the iPhone 4. I remember agonizing over that one. [AFAIR]
