I think mine should be here tomorrow. The iPad we received yesterday made the trek from anchorage to Indianapolis, Indy to Cleveland, then to pa in one day. Got to Indy yesterday morning around 1 am and left at 5:30, so I'm hopeful that it arrives and leaves in a similar fashion. If so, it should be here tomorrow!

Yea cos for iPhone 4, 2 days before the general release my pre-order status still said "prepared for shipment" and then the day before the release in the morning I had my entire shipping history available and it was out for delivery already. Ended up getting it the day before general release like many others
So My could be here tomorrow?
Mine said released for delivery then later said left sort facility.
I don't understand why people are speculating so much if theirs has been shipped and they have the tracking info. Is it just for something to do? I mean, you know it's been shipped and FedEx will update you- why all the speculation with the planes and this and that? They gave you an estimated shipping date, you know there's a possibility it could come early. Just track it and call FedEx if you see it has been in hold with customs or misses the shipping date. I think the plane tracking is a little obsessive. I'd be happy with a "shipped" status, a tracking number and leave it at that.
So i Called fedex and he said my one that is not moving is in customs... Really for over 36 hours? lol but my other one went right through... this makes no sense

Well, I guess obsessions run deep with Apple product fans. I have an obsession with the products themselves... and (unfortunately) and obsession refreshing my order status page waiting for "prepared for shipping".
That's weird. One would think entire containers full of iPads would move through customs in bulk. Surely they don't ship individual packages from China? But then maybe they do. Hmm..

I ordered at 1:08am. I got a black 64gig wifi iPad 2, smart cover, and av adapter. The adapter and the cover has shipped with an estimated delivery of the 22nd. The ipad 2 has not shipped or been prepared for shipment. We will see I don't expect it to ship till tomorrow.
This is so wrong ! It will arrive by 2 am and then get to Nyc within another 2 hours, then to your local area within another hour

Good for you! The only way to teach people (or companies) that something is unacceptable and you expect better next time is to speak up!
We would all like improvement of this shipping process, right?
Maybe it helps them vent the anxiety from all the anticipation.

He told me that all of this was out of his control and that he wanted to give me the smart cover for the inconvenience.
So I just called Apple and asked why mine wasn't moving forward in status. They said it missed the last plane out of China for the day.
Currently it's on the back of a donkey making it's way east so it can be loaded onto a dolphin equipped with GPS. It should be in hawaii by Saturday and then in So Cal by next Tuesday!
