Thanks for calling and checking thejd. Hopefully, she is correct. Honestly, the lady I spoke with at Fed Ex was also quite nice, just didn't have any information for me at the time. She said she was going to check into it, so maybe she did. I appreciate that you called. I am in California, so I hope the delivery of the 23rd is correct.

Apple was more rude than you can imagine and I was not going there with them. They can be rude if they want, they won't get my business again. I won't be rude back. Hey, what do we all want for almost a thousand dollars, right? :cool:

I am also in California and I ordered at 12:56 on the 11th. I wish I had waited till later to order mine. Maybe it would be here by now. Instead, it is in Lantau.
 
I thought it would beat me home from school but hopefully it make it here before I leave for work at 4:15pm

Lantau Poll/Forum

For those of you (like me) who have been stuck in Lantau, there is a poll/forum: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1120044/

I feel like we should have our own forum anyways... BTW for those whose delivery is still saying 3-23 (also like me), there is hope... people are claiming that their iPads have left Lantau and delivered to the east coast in 24hr...

At this point, if FedEx still feels like they are on schedule with your order, then we should too

Mine is still sitting on Lantau so of course I called Apple and Fedex to speak with them about it. I have 2 friends who already have their Ipads and we all ordered at the same time.

Apple is DONE playing Mr. Nice Guy. The woman on the phone was nice enough but basically told me to pound sand and wait. She actually went as far to say "Well what would you like me to do about it"....... for 772 dollars I would like you to do "something".

Fedex woman told me the same type story as another poster. They have a large pallet of IPADs and its just sitting there. I will keep hitting refresh.

Keep checking Yahoo - I see my iPad2 has made it to Ta Huian Hsiang. I'm not sure what the itinerary is for iPad2 shipments when they go there. I'll go check earlier posts on the board - but those of us stranded for 4 days + appear to be moving.
 
Mine is 5 miles from my house now. Now just waiting for that "On the truck" notice. Scheduled for no later than tomorrow. On Kauai it all depends on how many monday deliveries made it here today also.

Why they don't just move them to a bunch of smaller pallets is anyone's guess. Though, based on my shipping info, 700 iPads would only weigh about a ton and be about 155 cubic feet in size (5 ft x 5 ft x 6.2 ft for example). A cargo plane should be able to handle that, no problem.

Not for International Economy. That's probably on a space available basis.
 
I have an update for the Sennan-shi crowd!

After spending a relaxing 50 hours in Sennan-Shi, taking in the sights, my ipad has finally made her way to the fedex ramp! =) Check your statuses!

I'm thinking my iPad is strapped on this HUGE pallet along with the rest being held hostage on Lantua Island.

Again I would like to thank everyone for turning this rather frustrating event into an opportunity to laugh. I wouldn't mind a little iPad showing up in 9 months but would prefer to not have to deal with STDs.

Really not sure what I'll do if my iPad shows up with a "Lantua Island - Been There, Done My Time" tattoo and body piercings.
 
Ugh... So impatient

I ordered my Ipad on the 11th and got my confirmation order at 12:48am and it's still not in my hands. Truck driver is taking forever to deliver it. Delivery was originally supposed to be on Friday by 4:30.

I think my iPad2 is with yours - at least they have the same routing and time stamps today on Yahoo (except mine spent some extra hours in Shenzhen and on Lantau Island). Do you have any idea what the itinerary will be from Ta Yuan Hsiang?
 
My iPads finally showed up at my office around 1230 eastern time today (Orlando). The two boxes are sitting there staring at me but I can't open them yet for two reasons:

1) Most important - These are anniversary presents for my wife and I. I'm sure she would want to open them together.
2) If I was to open one of them, I probably would not get any work done the rest of the day :D

The 700 iPads still on Lantau Island

I spoke to a FedEx rep just now (11:40 PDT) and was informed that our shipment of 700 AT&T iPad 2s are subject to "plane availability" and that since they did not go out today, delivery would probably be delayed one day to 3/24.

Let's hope it's only one day delay.

So much for the special division of Fedex set up to deliver apple products. Then again it really doesnt matter to fedex or apple if they miss a delivery date.

The only flight today that coincides with the "Left Ramp" on the FedEx tracker is FDX60 KIX-MEM. FDX60 is scheduled for 02:20.

Best as I can tell, there are non KIX-ANC flights today. There is a KIX-OAK but it is at 0605, two hous from now. FedEx typically designates "Left Ramp" for "the plane (or truck) left"

Would most likely preclude you from anniversary sex too :). Keep em sealed
 
There's definitely a problem with FDX60 KIX-MEM. Was supposed to have departed at 02:20 (1 hour and 50 minutes ago) but has not yet departed.

This could very well screw up getting through customs in MEM and threaten the 3.23 promised delivery date.

Mine's in that pile and it already had it's estimated ship date change from 3/23 to 3/24 back on 3/18.

If they don't ship soon, that pile of 700 iPad's is only going to get larger.
