Now lets just say a prayer that Tom Hanks isn't catching a ride on this flight! It has been a pleasure (for the most part), to meet all of you and share the misery of our entrapment on Lantau Island. Mine will not make my deadline, but at least it should be here before we leave on vacation. Good enough.

BTW, if you use FedEx tracking (off the Apple site) you don't see the flight. I had to use Yahoo Small Business Tracker for FedEx to see the 3/22 stuff

Why isn't FedEx's OWN WEBSITE updating but Yahoo is?

I get the same times as everyone else here.
 
For those of you who were stuck in Sennan-shi until yesterday -

I was in the same boat...er...plane. Aparently it landed in Memphis and somehow made its way all the way to Pittsburgh from Memphis overnight. I don't know if I got lucky or not, but it appears that it might deliver today or tomorrow (tomorrow is the date as promised).

I am truly amazed that the little girl was in Japan about 12 hours ago, and has made her way all the way to Memphis to Pennsylvania in such a short amount of time.

I am pretty sure that they are pulling from the database but FedEx is ignoring some of the scans in the middle. My guess is that certain scans will have a tracking code type that FedEx doesn't think is important to overall tracking so it ignores it. Yahoo on the other hand is not filtering these scans out.
 
It looks like the plane will land in Alaska in a couple hours. In theory this should be enough time to clear customs and be in-route to the major distribution hubs such as Memphis. Delivery tomorrow is now likely for many of us.

What day were you quoted for delivery?
Mine was released from the same flight about 30 minutes sooner but did not make any of the 2 flights to newark. So have to wait until tomorrow for it to leave memphis.

If Pittsburgh is a hub for fedex (not sure) I don't know why your ipad wouldn't at least be here. Perhaps there is a Memphis to Newark flight today.
 
Mine took the island vacation via Taiwan and Japan. Then once it arrived stateside, it took another vacation in Jacksonville. Called FedEx and got no explanation as to why. Finally moving again.

I'm in NJ, it will go from memphis to newark, the only flights today were at 330am and 450am and mine wasn't on them. Next flight is wednesday afternoon. So i guess i'll see it thursday :(

Once it leaves the airport which is what that means, it will show
"ARRIVED AT FEDEX DESTINATION FACILITY *****"
That's when it's at your local fedex center. Now it's probably too late for today, but some people have called their local offices to have it held there instead and then you can pick it up tonight. :)

Ok Mine is similar. Some of the thread messages above seem to indicate this shows it is already on a flight. What would indicate that?

Mine is the the same situation and it really wants to get here on it's scheduled deleivery tomorrow but my iPad is hoping to be on one of the direct flights to Memphis as it thinks it's chances are better for that than to go to Anchorage for a while - it's worried it will get as caught up in the beautiful Alaskan scenery as it has been on Lantau Island.

Any hope it will be able to finish its journey and get to Chicago tomorrow so it can come with me on my trip early Thursday morning?

As you can see, it arrived to Anchorage and left in about 3 hours. So I think it's fairly safe to expect your iPad tomorrow.

But then no one expected to see our iPads sit in Hong Kong for nearly 5 days either.

THanks - I was hoping that because it was "leaving ramp" it was going to the truck...but I guess not! I guess I"ll have to wait one more day.
