Just got mine

Well i am outta here yall, Fedex just delivered mine after been in HK for 4 days, it made it right on schedule.... But thanks to yal on macforum i was still able to get my smart covered refunded to me. 69.99 ..Thanks to all

bout to enjoy my new ipad 2... the white 3g AT&T now i need to call AT&T to get my unlimited plan transferred to it.

Now they get to buy me a new one! I already have one but its wifi only, I'm waiting on the ATT 3G one.

They will allow you to pick it up after 5-6 pm. I'll be doing that as I live only about a mile from the FedEX office. I was fine with signing a release for the cover, but I'm not taking a chance with the iPad.

I think I am on the same flight, but i'm curious. I went on to FlightAware and could not find a FDX flight from HK at that time. Am I missing something?

Anyone else on our flight?

Well according to the tracking info, Mine landed in Alaska at 4:22 and cleared customs at 5:17 ... then it was scanned at 7:57 saying it is being held at the sorting facility. This scan was around the same time as flights to both Newark and Memphis. Nothing has been updated since and it has been 17 hours.

Now all of these people who have held at sorting facility are being told it is held in customs even though customs already cleared it.

This entire thing is BS. The only thing I want is if it really is being held in Alaska, why won't FedEx tell me that and why won't they update my delivery time/date?

After almost two stressful, screw-up weeks of bulls*it logistics, screw-ups, and out and out lies, my ipad 2 finally was delivered a few minutes ago!

This could not have possibly been a more opposite experience from the ipad launch last year.

Last year, I bought the Wifi 64GB, delivered on SATURDAY (launch day). After two weeks decided I would rather have the 3G version (which didn't launch until early april)... Called Apple not only did they offer a complete refund, they paid for the shipping back and extended my RMA time to 45 days so I didnt have to send back my wifi ipad until my 3G showed up.

Flash forward to two weeks ago. A completely screwed-up, incompetent launch which was obviously advanced way before it was ready. Add to that no pre-orders and what a clusterf*ck.

At least it's over.

That being said, I haven't inspected my ipad 2 for light leaks or dead pixels.....

Good luck to everyone waiting for your ipad.... You'll need it.

I don't blame you, plus I'm sure it takes blame away from fedex should something happen.

I think your right? I have fedex on the phone now and they are trying to do a trace to locate the package, they said they will call me once they locate it, so yes sounds like they lost it.

Is yours stuck in Alaska as well since 3:57 alaska time yesterday? I am wondering if that entire shipment from Taiwan is being held or something.

I agree, I don't like the thought of leaving on the doorstep but it is an option.

I am under the impression that you have to fly to KIX or RJAA in Japan before making the trip to Anchorage, so I do not think we are on the FDX flight 74 that just landed at Anchorage. But who the hell knows. Below is my similar FedEx info from Yahoo!.

My iPad just arrived in Anchorage - now I'm just wondering what's next? I tried to check flightstats for a FedEx flight leaving Anchorage today but didn't see anything going within the US. For those of you who have had iPads go through Anchorage, were you able to track your flight out of Alaska?

How out of order? Are others arriving before yours with the exact same build and a later order time (be sure to mind the time zones)? Remember that different builds may have completely different assembly schedules and tracks, not all models are available at all times. Also, there is bound to be some variability in the time it takes for a warehouse to pick orders. Maybe your order picker was slower than theirs and your device didn't make it on the last pallet of the day for shipment. Engraving can also add another variable, in some cases it's actually sped up the delivery. I still see no reason for this to be considered "botched". It's not the most fun way to do a launch but they're getting them out to people ASAP. If they had to assemble enough to fill all first day orders before a launch, we would still be waiting for launch day and nobody would have iPad 2s yet.

The one that just landed in Anchorage was a flight out of Narita at 19:49. So it looks like yours would be on the next flight after that.
 
At the time of the order it said 2-3 weeks, with expected shipment on April 1st and delivery on April 6th. However this morning I received this news...

Yes, I tracked my package out of Alaska using this site. http://flightaware.com

When my package was leaving Alaska, I looked at flights that matched the exact time mine left. I was on http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX86. It was headed for Oakland, CA. Once it landed in Oakland it was 11:00 pm. By morning, my iPad was in my town about two hours from Oakland. It is now on a truck for delivery.

Good luck! It moved very fast once it got on U.S. soil.

Likely a FedEx employee is enjoying your new ipad.

If they lost it, there have been horror stories on this forum about Apple not giving a crap and putting you at the back of the line 4-5 weeks to ship to get a replacement.
