For those of us whose packages made it to AK yesterday but didn't go any further: I escalated the issue within FedEx and I finally got the truth. And I quote:
By bulk out they mean that the plane was loaded with the maximum amount of weight it can safely handle. In other words, they are referring to weight, not volume.
Now, I realize that there were two flights from AK to TN yesterday, so I don't know if that is exactly the same thing that happened to BOTH flights, but it is safe to assume that it did.
So stop tracking your package, stop believing the customs excuses or the delivery promises. Your package will leave tonight and arrive tomorrow, not today.
It appears that the aircraft was bulked out causing this package in addition to some others, to not be able to make the flight on yesterday.
