Well, I guess your order time isn't as relevant as userblah's, since yours is still "Not Yet Shipped". If his/hers really has shipped, that would be really crappy, considering that order would have been place about 8 hours AFTER my wife's and is for the same model. I'm not worried since I don't even know if she'll let me play with it before my birthday anyway, but would seem strange for orders to be fulfilled THAT far out of order. If the were different models? sure. Same model? Shouldn't happen.

STILL stuck in Memphis

I called Fedex international around noon EST, to see where my package was, it was suppossed to be delivered by 10:30AM on 3/23 Today. It never showed. So the Rep couldn't tell me much, they transferred me to some one in a different department who siad they couldn't locate my package and that they were opening a "Trace" on the package and that some one would call me back when they have more info. Sounds like they misplaced a pallet or something.

I also spoke to FEDEX international rep today, and also had a trace put on my shipment. As with yours, it's been in Memphis since Monday evening. I just got a call back from the rep, who said that it's somewhere in the Memphis facility, or in transit to NJ, and has been missed on a scan -- OR, that it's just "lost" in their facility -- OR, that it's shipping label has fallen off. She said that next possible information would likely not occur until TOMORROW MORNING, and that she'd call me back with any update. Of course, if it's located and scanned, I'll see that on their website.

Strange that both of our packages have experienced the same things, so it seems more likely to me that a pallet of iPads has been ignored for a while in some corner of the Memphis Fedex warehouse.

This is NOT looking good.

I have a trace open with Fedex and a Incident open with Apple who is contacting Fedex directly.

I am under the impression that you have to fly to KIX or RJAA in Japan before making the trip to Anchorage, so I do not think we are on the FDX flight 74 that just landed at Anchorage. But who the hell knows. Below is my similar FedEx info from Yahoo!.

Lucky you! Exact same time of order but mine still says "prepared for shipment" and shipping date still shows as April 1st.

It was actually 6:07AM PDT to be exact. Another day or so and I'm sure yours will be leaving China too...

Mine just vanished, too. It now says "Delivery date unknown." ETA was originally today by 4:30 PM, so hopefully they're just running a bit behind schedule. I don't care if it comes at 6 PM... I just want it already!

I placed an iPad 2 order online at about 6:15am PST on first day. Previously my order indicated that it would be shipping April 1st, delivery by April 8th. Now:

Notification says it shipped today, March 23rd, over 1 week early! Awesome!

Well first she said it hasn't cleared customs. So I told her that the tracking info said it did clear customs. So she said it did clear customs but it is still sitting in customs because there hasn't been a departure available.

She said it should come tomorrow. I asked if they could hold it at my local FedEx office because I won't be home tomorrow (I took today off and figured I MIGHT be able to pull off driving there and back during my lunch hour tomorrow) and she said no that I would have to put a note on my door to authorize the delivery person to leave it...so it looks like I won't be getting my iPad tomorrow.

I am so pissed right now. They knew last night that the container did not make it out of Alaska so it is total BS that I didn't wake up this morning to a shipping delay or something. If I did, I would have gone to work and seen if I could reschedule my day off. Instead I sit at home all day impatiently waiting for nothing.

After getting up in the middle of the night and ordering on launch day, being the last ones to see their iPad ship on the 3-5 day series, sitting in Hong Kong for 5 days..... Now I'm waiting on fed ex to deliver. Supposed to be delivered by 4:30. Only 2 hours left, where is fed ex? Have a bad feeling they are gonna screw this up again!!!!

Down to 30 minutes left.....surely fed ex isn't going to screw me again????

Nixie - Same thing happened to me. Took the day off only to be fed the same line that we know is not true, held up in customs in Anchorage. When I received the callback from FedEx on my case # I was told the same thing as the others have been told, my iPad will be sent out from Anchorage tonight and delivered tomorrow. The weird thing is that my tracking info still says the arrival is today and has not updated since 4:43 PM yesterday. I am really sick of FedEx at this point.

Is it 4:30 where you live yet? It updated automatically as soon as 4:30 passed and it wasn't delivered. Personally I think their system should be smart enough to realize when something is delayed but I guess that is too much to ask for.

But my updates never indicated it left HK. Between the time I found this thread and reviewed it, and the time I went back to FedEx to copy status, it went from At local FedEx facility LANTAU ISLAND HK to arrived Anchorage.

FYI - I ordered at 8 AM EST on 3/11.

Expected delivery Friday. Should make it easily to NJ from Anchorage through Memphis.
