so at this time it looks like some orders from 3/15 will be here tomorrow and i get to sit and wait.... oh well i need to look on the bright side its better than the 22 which was the first est date.

Finally an update today! It just landed in Memphis an hour ago, still says the delivery date is tomorrow at 4:30 PM (I'm in PA). No way it gets here by then right? But shouldn't they have updated the shipping date? Do you think Apple is paying extra for overnight shipping tonight to make up for the delay?

Not sure where in PA you are but there was one flight to Pittsburgh and two to Philadelphia since it arrived in Memphis so it could make it to you today.
So it seems a lot of us who had an Apr 23 delivery estimate got pushed to Apr 25.
My order from Mar 16 (ships apr 20 delivers apr 23rd) is now Delivers Apr 25th. Assuming the common answer (23rd is a Saturday so no delivery esp since I selected business address)

So I ordered 3/13, shipped 4/3, typical route: Shenzen, stuck in Lantau Island 3 days, Ta Yuan, and today got an email from apple: *Due to an unexpected delay, your shipment may deliver one day later than

People who bought theirs after 3/13 or even got the shipments leaving later, already received theirs. What to make of it?
I called Apple's phone number in the email, they said it's in Lantau Island... since 4/3. THey told me to call FedEx, so I did and they said it's still in China. When I asked when it will be delivered, she said she didn't know. It seems like they have a mess over there.

So my information still hasn't updated (ordered 3/22, ships 4/21, delivers 4/26), and there still wasn't a charge to my cc. I talked to some friends from Canada who already got shipping dates that beat mine by 4 days even though they ordered 3 days after me. This combined with the fact that my local apple store/best buys/walmarts seem to get a half-dozen a week or so (which I cant get to in time due to work), I called Apple.
I told them I have no problem waiting, but I do have a problem with all these other orders placed after mine arriving before mine. The apple support person refunded my Smart Cover, which I've had for 2 weeks. So thats good. I didn't ask him to, he just offered and did it.
Still waiting though.

I do appreciate Apple beating the delivery by a week and I am always amazed at the efficiency of Fed Ex. So for those of you who are just starting this journey let me give you a condensed version of the things I learned on how to track your order. Times given here were the norm and Im sure you can look through the postings and see some that are better and some that are worse.
First sign of movement, a pending charge on your credit card
Within 24 hours, status will change to Prepared for Shipment
Within 72 hours your iPad will be shipped
You can track your delivery (shown above) through the normal Fed Ex tracker or
Yahoo, http://smallbusiness.att.yahoo.com/r-packageTracker-s-fedex
You will be so tired of a location called Lantau Island HK
So this is where the Yahoo tracker becomes handy, Fed Ex doesnt give statuses as well as Yahoo when your package is leaving the island. As you can see above in Fed Ex tracker there was nothing between Lantau and Memphis, in Yahoo here are the entries you are looking for:
