For some reason I've wanted a DSi XL for months now. So I finally got one, and it's in awesome condition too. I also picked up Resident Evil 7 to play through solely on PSVR. I'm an hour in and it's outstanding - the best gaming experience I might have had! And I didn't like these kind of games before VR was an option so I'm very excited to see what VR gets me to like next :)

Wolfenstein was aamaaaazing from start to finish I thought! That's what made me 100% confident I'd love Doom too. But yeah... as we spoke about at the time the repetition in Doom just puts me off so so much.

Finish playing Wolfenstein New Order last night. Very good game. I actually enjoyed it somewhat more than I did Doom for the PS4. What I liked about it, was the levels were very well detailed and it was something different every single chapter. Versus Doom, where it was all arena-based and slaughtering hundreds of aliens in one giant room.

The storyline was also better in Wolfenstein then it was in Doom. Doom had very little storyline and might as well not even have had one at all.

For my consoles as work, life, kids and everything has left zero time for gaming.

Funny, when you are young you have all the time in the world...no money. Now I am old and have plenty of funds for my gaming needs....NO TIME!!!!!

We all have times like that, it's why my back catalog is ever growing ...

That ever growing backlog is exactly why I have avoided buying anything new for the past year or so. Gifts for Christmas and KH 2.8 are the only exceptions thus far. And then the Games with Gold and PS+ games... I'm worried about the size of my backlog.

My backlog is tremendous and I get more joy out of getting fantastic sales and prices on games with all of these deals then actually playing them.

It's a vicious cycle.

On the last PS Store sale I bought the Bioshock collection and Metro redux (comes with Metro 2033 and Light). All for 37€.

I'm super happy with all the deals I've been getting on the PS Store since getting my PS4 on January.

Most I've paid is 25€ for the Bioshock collection! Everything else has been like 13€.

Right now Battlefield 1 is 35€ and the Battlefield 1 + Titanfall 2 combo is 49€. I'm tempted for Battlefield 1, which is one of the reasons I bought a new console, but I may wait until summer or later for another sale and the price to be around 25€, hopefully. Or do you guys think it will take longer for the game to hit that price?

I've just got too many shooters right now, and want my next few purchases to be different. Shooters are my least favorite videogame genre, but because of the PS Store sales I've bought quite a few.

Bought Steep last night and unwrapped and played it on the same day for once! :D

Beautiful game and pretty relaxing. Snowboarding controls are a bit wonky. Sometimes I really can't tell why I land some tricks unhurt and crash others.

I know exactly what you mean. I have 5 games that I bought around the holidays that are still sealed. Bought the PS4P and never actually played with it. And now I'm wanting to pickup Horizon Zero Dawn and the Nintendo Switch and Zelda o_O

It seems open world games are all the rage these days. I've never actually played any before. It seems to me open world games are much aimless wandering around, compared to the more linear titles. This is my only concern on the new Zelda game. Horizon Zero Dawn does look absolutely stunning on the PS4P though.

Fighting the urge to get Horizon even though I know it isn't my cup of tea I feel it will make me get back into the Pro which nothing has as of yet.

Yeah. This is the vicious cycle - buying another piece of hardware or software in order to justify another prior purchase.

Horizon Zero Dawn, and a NES Classic Mini from when Nintendo UK briefly made them available to order last week.

You want to sell your Pro so early on as you previously mentioned and perhaps you're not giving it an enough of a chance to expand. There are a lot of promising titles coming and more developers are on board for 4K patching.

Horizon Dawn isn't for me. But the gameplay Demo's looking graphically amazing. I have way to many games to finish and Mass Effect is coming.

Just to get things in ahead of time...

For those of you who are going to say, "Nintendo Switch"...

I hate you...

;)
Picking mine up Friday morning. Was told they would open at Midnight but as there are only 12 or so pre-orders in the small town I doubt there will be much need for that ...

What sort of games interest you?

I really like the Ratchet and Clank type games and less so the HUGE open world Witcher type games.

My time is limited so I try to enjoy a game all the way through until the next one.

Girlfriend and I both picked up For Honor for Xbox One. We are getting destroyed online. I'm not good at this game.

Saw the reviews. Looks like a highly customizable game. I was tempted, but I backed off until later. But interesting looking game.

Horizon Zero Dawn for me.

I've got to say, was expecting the No Man's Sky kind of jolt of reality after the hype but, man is it awesome.

For Guerrilla Games' first post-Killzone game, and their first RPG, it really hit it out of the park IMO.

On a regular or PRO?

It is a "showcase" game for the PRO so I'm kinda wondering if it is worth playing it on a regular model.

I played it on my vanilla PS4 (matte revision from Uncharted Collection bundle) in the bedroom on a Samsung LEDTV and it's still a lovely experience graphically with a consistently stable 30fps, same as on the PS4 Pro. It's not as amazing as it is on a 4K HDR of course, but easily one of the best looking titles on the PS4, better in 1080p than Uncharted 4 (not surprising given how long ago that title came out) but still that level of fidelity and polish. It's clear that loads of love went into this game and Guerilla wanted even those with older hardware to have a memorable experience.

I know the developers were adamant about using checkerboard for 4K with Horizon Dawn. It certainly looks visually stunning. It certainly going to be a game for contender of the year.
