If it shows up Wednesday (assuming it shipped Friday/2 business days), then half of the 14 day return period is gone! Dead picsels should be evident right away, but I will need a few days to judge battery life on a refurb...:mad:

You guys should stop hoping for the worst. Be optimistic. I got a refurbed 16gb last time round and it is perfect. Knock wood.
 
Just being careful, as this is a temp 16GB phone until I see the specs, and price cut on the new model. Then this would be a hand me down to one of my teenagers.
Something about the 3G speculation has me thinking besides 3G and MAYBE GPS, the plastic back and prices lower may mean that version one IS the best iPhone "quality" wise. They will run 99% of the same software...
 
Just wanted to chime in on this subject. I got a 16Gb refurb when they went on sale o the 14th. Arrived two days after ordering and was in perfect condition.
 
Just contacted att about my 16 gb iphone purchase,

They told me today, that the warehouse was awaiting for the phones to come in and they did over the weekend and that they WILL ship today with a confirmation to follow.

So we will see ???

Thanks for the update. They showed "available", or "in Stock" 6 days ago, and we're all still waiting.........
 
just got a DHL package from AT&T, but no phone inside. Just a piece of paper saying that I ordered a phone. WTF!!! I have not yet read this piece of paper as I am at work right now. I was just told by the person who received it that there's no phone in the package.

online order dept says they found the order and it should ship out friday. the she said the other screen says they are back ordered. so back to hold i go. three min later, yes they are on back order and they are waiting for another shipment of phones.

I got an email about my CC and I was going to call and fix it because my CC is still tied to my old address, but I gave up and decided to stick with my Curve and wait for the Bold. This has been a headache for most customers.
 
You aren't the only one upset. I just called them and was told that they didn't see my order. But the nice rep called the estore and was told that they have 2 warehouses and that I should expect my ship email today with a tracking number. So much for 2 day priority. no wonder it was free! ;)
I was a bit upset but I am ok with it now. Just as long as they know one of them comes to my house. I was hoping for it today but it doesn't look like it. Guess it will have to wait until this week. :(

when they shipped my phone, I recieved 2 packages, one like that one, a larger box with a bag and receipt with nothing in it, and a smaller box with the actual phone in it.

Don't count on it shipping today. They have been telling me that since last Thursday (5 days). I tried to cancel my order also, and they wouldn't let me . I has been 6 days since I placed the order for an "available" and "in stock" with "free 2 day shipping" phone- What a Crock!!

seriously guys, how hard is it for you to understand it's "free 2 day shipping" NOT WILL SHIP (OR GET TO YOU) WITHIN 2 DAYS. it will arrive within 2 days of them shipping it to you, which could be next month if they felt like it.

I think this is whats ticking some people off that they are told different things by different people. :confused: I am hoping to get it no later than Friday at the latest. In my email it stated 3-5 days. I ordered it on the 21st, I adjusted the date to the 22nd. accounting for the holiday which should leave me at the 27th-29th (tues.-thurs.). ;)

My thoughts exactly. As of this morning I still do not have a confirmation for shipping. I ordered one week ago. Tried to cancel yesterday and the rep said he would submit a request to his supervisor - not holding my breath that this will go down.

Called the automated service. i was told it would be shipped within 24 hours. Same crap as on Friday. I talked to another rep today. Dial: 1 866 391 0749 if ordered online.
she told me that they were on backorder but they have them in now. I was also told by same rep that there were issues with iphones being shipped and that there was a system error.
She offered to expedite the order (which i doubt will do any good). So my order is being expedited. So I should be receiving shipping email today (hopefully).:D

LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE!! I have heard the expediting schpeel since FRIDAY! LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE!

So far, I have been told that...
1) there was a problem with phones coming out of Texas (their inventory shows minus 602 available there but Tennessee has 892 available, of which mine is one of them awaiting a courier). I was told by the same rep that over 10,000 orders were placed last Wed. to which I replied, so if you're minus 602 at one place and plus 892 at another and you have 10,000 orders, how do you expect to fill them?

I flat out told her: you have no idea where my order is. She responds:(this was a supervisor by the way): "I know exactly where your order is." "Where is it then?" "It's waiting to be shipped from Tennessee." "How do you know I'm one of the orders that has a phone to fill it?" "I know you have a phone." "When will it be shipped?" "Should be today."

2) I have been told that because of the holiday there has been a delay to everything. Not buying that either. If I had placed the order Friday or Saturday, fine. BUT, I was told since last Thursday that my phone was in the warehouse, packed and waiting for a courier.

3) I have been told they were out of stock ALL last week but they received more phones over the weekend. To which I responded: "then how did my order get packed and how was it ready to be shipped last Thursday like you claim?"

4) I was told yesterday by a rep that, at my request, he would send his supervisor a letter requesting that the order be cancelled. I spoke with a supervisor today--she saw the letter but said it hadn't been 24 hours (it's been about 17) and sometimes it takes that long to get cancelled.

5) I was told by a rep last Friday that my order was cancelled then 5 minutes later a supervisor said that was crazy talk.

WHAT OTHER LIES HAVE BEEN TOLD? PLEASE, SHARE YOUR STORIES! LET'S GET A GOOD GROUP OF THEM BEFORE WE CALL CLARK HOWARD.
 
I received the infamous bag yesterday. Can someone give me an update if they've received anything other than the bag today or yesterday? I'm at work and have no way of finding out if something else got delivered at home. Thanks.
 
It gets better, this is from HOFO:

"just got off the phone with the premier dept and web order. both ask "have you gotten your bag yet?" WTF? so yes ladies and gentlemen, ATT knows that they know they are sending an empty box out with a plastic bag in the box. and to top that off even if you get a box/bag super dooper combo you STILL ain't getting a phone anytime soon. there aren't any!!!

according to both if you ordered a phone your screwed. they said they have phones coming but it could be next week or next month. they can tie up your credit card funds as long as it takes to get a phone in, get the order processed at the warehouse level and shipped to you.

i told the cu*t again, CANCEL THE ORDER. nope, cant do it cause the order has been dropped at the warehouse. again, WTF. what has been dropped? there are no phones to send IE: what are you sending me. we are sending a bag in a box. so i ask what its for and no one could tell me. but they all know that the plastic bag is being sent out.

its times like this that im glad that i have an amex. their fraud dept must be staffed by very angry people whose mission in life is to just inflict pain. i called them and told them the deal, it will be reversed in 24hrs. i logged on to the cc acct and i already have a message from the fraud dept with the case number, the agent i spoke with, the amount, etc."

At this point I honestly think the stores should just mark the iPhones down to the $249 and $349. Doubt this will happen, but that's just my opinion :rolleyes:
 
...currently on the phone with a rep who now says that even my order is backordered (was told earlier they definitely had a phone for me) but they cannot cancel order because it has been dropped to warehouse. She said to me that my options were to wait for my supply or to call my credit card company and tell them to deny the charge. That was her advice to me!!?
