The worst part is that Apple itself makes a thinner device than the iPhone, which does include the headphone jack. The iPod Touch.
People can have different opinions too, I know, it's a SHOCKER! lol
Why is Phil dressed as a postal worker?
Is that the new hip look?
Ssshhh don't question them. Then how does the Samsung maintain the water resistance when it has a headphone jack?
"The audio connector is more than 100 years old," Joswiak says. "It had its last big innovation about 50 years ago."
I think Apple is hiring Trolls to post pro no headphone jack comments here.
I would usually agree with this but I think the opposite may happen in this case. The inconvenience of carrying around an adapter might increasingly annoy 7/7+ owners over time.
Ssshhh don't question them.
which isn't crammed to the gills with tech the same way the current iPhone is.The worst part is that Apple itself makes a thinner device than the iPhone, which does include the headphone jack. The iPod Touch.
Still don't understand why people are comparing this to things like the removal of the floppy disk and cassette players. Each of those things were replaced by better technologies. Ditching a wired technology with a wireless one isn't the same thing, but rather something that complements existing things. For example, Wi-Fi isn't a replacement for Ethernet, for without Ethernet, you generally wouldn't have Wi-Fi.
From the interview, it just sounds like Apple couldn't fix a supposed issue that they were having. Were they telling the truth, or was it lazy engineering? We'll never truly know.
There was literally nothing wrong with the 3.5mm jack.
By exploding. The resulting explosion pushes it away for less than a second. lol.
Sarcasm apart, I don't own a Mac, and while I agree that switching to USB C on the iPhone to prevent things like that from happening would have been more logical as well, the removal of the jack is still an important step towards what I consider to be the right direction. And to be honest the lightning port hole is way thinner than the jack so it looks smaller to me.There's strong speculation that new Macs will rollout with Lightning jacks in place of 3.5mm. Apparently that will be a bigger hole for pretty much just headphone usage there. Will that be pretty much the same anti-symmetrical move to long for another cut of "good riddance" when it can get kicked out of Macs a few years down the road? Or will that be genius and "shut up and take my money." (rhetorical- I already know the answer)
You think??? I'm practically certain. There's at least a handful of guys who argue with Apple in every detail. Whatever your issue with anything Apple is doing, it's always YOUR fault or YOU need to change to comply. It's the opposite of "think different" unless "different" means "with whatever Apple is selling or wants to sell soon."
I'm certain that the next iPhone could be made out of razor blades and these guys would argue the merits of regularly turning over our blood supplies. Otherwise, I just can't grasp this level of blind brand loyalty... even within the concept of RDF, Kool-aid, etc.
Bluetooth has crappy quality and an adaptor doesn't make this phone smaller but bulky in the pocket. Some opinions are misinformed.
