If we want to complain about the high prices. We should blame ourselves for buying over excessive expensive items. Let’s not upgrade anything for 10 years and see how the prices will plummet.

Pro branding on earbuds, Apple? Really? Are you really gonna water out the Pro branding THAT much? ...
I'll wait for the Pro Pro, or 2xPro, or Elite edition then, cause I'm sure it's right around the corner.
It’s just a word, get over it.

It's not that cheap actually. Once you have paid to replace both AirPods and the case, it basically works out to buying a new set of AirPods.
The case rarely needs replacing.

Apple doesn’t change battery they just charge you for replacement

oh, so they swap the old one for the new one (same generation)? That’s even better. But I thought the program called battery replacement program.

Why are they getting more and more expensive? I mean, come on...

Having said that... noise cancellation would be awesome, and i would probably buy it just for that. Still on my first gen AirPods and i just love em.

Yeah, that's a no for me. I have Bose noise cancelling headphones that already work well. I'll stick with the "regular" AirPods.

They’re not getting more expensive. The model without noise cancellation has the same price as before.

If
Airpods Pro are better than Airpods
- at sound quaility
-touch gesture for volume at least
-metal build
-more colors available
-no compromises than the normal airpods like battery life etc

Than this is too cheap in my opinion

Why metal build?

I will probably buy these when they come out. But, dang Apple, is it really that important to constantly raise the prices on every product with every iteration? Apple should release these at $99. If they can afford to give away AppleTV+ free for a year, they can suck it up and release new AirPods at a much lower price.

It took Apple over 2 years to introduce the 2nd gen Airpods which were just released in March and now they are going to release a 3rd gen? Thats less that 7 months - I just purchased my 2nd gen 2 months ago..

Noise cancellation would be an awesome feature but I'll hold off and see what Apple includes in the 4th gen
I don’t consider the “2nd Gen” as 2nd generation because they are the same as the 1st Gen, just with a wireless charging case so I think Apple was already gearing up for noise cancelling ones since.

Probably explains the sudden price drop of the PowerBeats Pro's down to $199, at least on Amazon. While they say it's a sale, my guess is, that will become their normal price, once the new Airpods arrive, at $249...

You sure? The second Gen is 229€ here in Germany, the first one was like 180€, so i thought the 3rd Gen is gonna be 260€, cause taxes.

It seems like the industry agreed on the term "pro" to work best as an excuse to raise prices. Pro in-ear headphones, seriously? These used to be product improvements for the regular product lineup.

No... The price is raised to accommodate the better technology; ie noise cancellation.

No need to get worked up on "Pro," it's just a label.

If you can't afford or don't need the improved model; no worries, there are other products out there.

So much discussion over the price, both ways ... yet it's a simple equation for anybody.

- Do you want in-ear phones?
- Do you want noise cancellation?
- Do you want (admittedly seamless) integration with Apple products?
- Is the battery life sufficient for your needs?
- Is the sound quality on par with devices of a similar price?
- Do they stay in your ears in the way you'd like?
- Is this the cheapest product which does all of the above?
- Do you have $269 to spend on earphones?

If your answer to all of these questions is yes, buy 'em. If not, don't bother.

Seriously, I can feel a flow-chart coming on... :p

Is it still elitist if *insert brand name* head/earphones is actually cheaper or of a brand that's not as prevalent as Apple, like say Creative?

Wow, I just found the one customer Creative still has. This is more exciting than discovering a fossil because you're still alive!
