Where would be the fun in that now?My perfect world companies come out with products when they are ready rather than this endless cycle every year.
The forbidden number in Germany is 18 not 19!Don't think that's the reason. Rather, it wouldn't sell in Germany.
What lesson? Why is the iPhone Air still in existence in this imaginary future? I thought Apple had learned their lesson.
Skips iPhone 9, skips iOS 19, skips iPhone 19.
What has Apple got against the number 9 😂
2028 - iPhone 282026 - iPhone 18
2027 - iPhone XX
To force you to buy it.Why is the iPhone Air still in existence in this imaginary future? I thought Apple had learned their lesson.
I'm ready to get the Air 2 if they add an ultra wide camera, coming from owning all the Pro Max models that they released. It's just too heavy and I don't care about ProRaw and all these niche features. Why is the iPhone Air still in existence in this imaginary future? I thought Apple had learned their lesson.
I mean, this IS MacRUMORS …we don't have any actual data about iPhone Air sales, Apple's expectations, their vision for it going forward, or what lessons they may or may not have learned
all we have is vague rumors, unreliable estimates, endless speculation, and myopic conjecture
Not going to be XX. Apple never did XX. They called it iPhone X as a homage to OS X. They will probably do 19 Pro/Pro Max and unveil at the same event the iPhone 20 or just the iPhone (worst case scenario Apple Phone).2026 - iPhone 18
2027 - iPhone XX
Apple mostly created all this mess with the “S” naming scheme.Skips iPhone 9, skips iOS 19, skips iPhone 19.
What has Apple got against the number 9 😂
The iPhoneApple should just make one special anniversary phone and simply call it “The iPhone”.
Do it like Hollywood names their sequels.
Final Destination
Final Destination 2
Final Destination 3
and then…
The Final Destination
Part of the reason Microsoft skipped Windows 9 was actually quite technical; some older software used version checks that looked for a Windows version beginning with 9, so old software running on Windows 9 might think it's running on Windows 95 or 98 instead and create compatibility issues. The rest was marketing considerations given the backlash to Windows 8.Funny how Microsoft moved away from naming products after the year it was released in the 90s...
.. and then stopped that over 20 years ago and moved on to Windows XP, 7, 8,
- Windows 95
- Office 97
- Office 98
- Windows 98
- Windows 2000
9 (!), 10, 11
For whatever reason they also disliked "9" 😁
Now Apple is naming their products the year after it's released.... similar to FiFA and other games etc.
Seems the biggest marketing nightmare of IT... naming the product after multiple versions of the same product, and not being allowed to use "9" 😜
Yes. They need to abandon all naming conventions except the year that the product is being released (or maybe one early like we see with ios right now). Why not iPhone 27 or something?
