Apple is set to launch the iPhone 13 in the third week of September and a 1TB internal storage option will be available for the high-end Pro models, Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said today in an investors note seen by MacRumors.

From the note:
Last week, Taiwanese research firm TrendForce said it believes Apple will launch the iPhone 13 in September. While the iPhone 12 series was announced in October last year, likely due to pandemic-related delays, Apple is expected to return to a September release for the iPhone 13 series, and the third week of the month is one possibility that Ives has stuck to consistently. Based on past events, Tuesday, September 7, September 14, and September 21 are all possible event/announcement dates, with launch usually occurring the following Friday.

Likewise, since at least March, Ives has asserted that the iPhone 13 series will include 1TB storage options, and his latest report is essentially him doubling down on that claim. A 1TB capacity would be double the current highest 512GB offering for the iPhone 12, and if camera upgrades take up the feature spotlight this year, as they are expected to for the Pro models, then offering more onboard storage would be a logical stepwise addition.

Apple has several iPhone 13 Pro improvements ready that will be aimed at professional videographers and pro users, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The upcoming iPhones will feature a video version of the iPhone's Portrait mode, which will allow people to capture videos that focus on a person, blurring out the background. Internally, Apple is calling this "Cinematic Video."

Apple also plans to add an option to record in a higher-quality ProRes video format. ProRes videos are designed for professional video editors and will result in large file sizes with HD and 4K resolution options. With the iPhone 12 Pro, Apple added ProRAW, and ProRes is the video equivalent. It's expected to be a feature limited to the iPhone 13 Pro models.

Hardware-wise, the iPhone 13 Pro models are expected to include an improved Ultra Wide lens, with Apple upgrading from a 5-element lens to a 6-element lens, along with autofocus, which would be an upgrade over the fixed focal length Ultra Wide camera in the iPhone 12 models.

In his latest note, Ives also reaffirms Wedbush's reporting that all models of the ‌iPhone 13‌, ranging from the lowest-end ‌iPhone 13‌ mini to the ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro Max, will feature LiDAR sensors, allowing for more realistic AR experiences and improved autofocus in low-light scenes.

Who needs 1TB of storage on a phone?

iPhone 13 Mini with LiDAR…means better portrait mode and low light settings. Can’t wait! I don’t think they will but would be nice to see a price drop on the 13 Mini.

So I guess my question is (and will likely have to wait until the reveal) is what will be the differences in processors.

For instance, I don't care so much about camera but someone who buys a new phone only every like 3 years I like to get the best processor offered in the phone when the new model comes out.
Well that’s a given since the processor is faster every year. I don’t expect as big of a jump from the A13 to A14 since it went from a 7nm in the A13 to 5nm process in the A14, but I think that has more to do with efficiency rather just performance. Rumor has it the A15 is going to remain at 5nm but be more efficient, faster, all expected any way, with the new better 5G chip efficiencies as well.

Does not sounds like much of an upgrade this year, unless a pro photographer. I upgrade every year and still probably will, but there is some doubt in my mind on this year.
Xiaomi updates more in 3 months

1TB… $1899? It’s going to be expensive as heck.
That is the price without state tax, tempered glass, phone case, power brick, charger cable, wireless charger, earbuds/airpods, icloud and music subscriptions and mobile plan. Oh and I forgot it’s without car accessories, paid apps and electricity to charge it, and just keep some extra Franklins in case something breaks (or for Apple care).

no one will buy if the camera is totally rubbish like ip12 is. i have to always on almost daily basis send ppl with ip12 my pics coz their phone cant take decent pics. this is not meant to troll buy trigger a serious discussion

And here I am still with an iPhone 6(plain 6) waiting in the right time to upgrade. :)
I also have a macbook pro originally purchased in last 2015 and replaced in early 2018. Also would like to upgrade because I think I could benefit from GPU, but as long as I use my laptop as a normal human, it is fine. But I don't.
