Hey check out this 120hz screen. Wow that's awesome.

is Apple ever getting rid of those huge outdated bezels??? I know they are always late on things but come'on, several years have gone by
Oh man thank you for saying that! I hate fat bezels on my iPhone X. Why can’t Apple get rid of the bottom and side bezels and introduce a truly bezeless display? Also I think it’s time for Apple to increase the display resolution to 3k since Samsung s21 ultra is 3k and it can do 120hz without any hiccups on full resolution!!

My iPhone X is starting to show small signs of slow down. I’ve been on vacation all of this week, so I’ve been using Google Maps a lot. Battery is the first sign that it’s aging. I now have to be recharging it at least 2 to 3 times a day. I really want to hold until 2023, but if it gets slower, then I will likely have upgrade a little earlier and or replace the battery.
It's only $49 USD at an apple store for them to replace the battery. sure you need a new phone, but having a backup with decent battery could be a good idea

My wife and mother will likely be getting new phones this year so i'll still be curious to see the specs on what gets released though personally I will be sticking to the 12 Pro until next years models come out. Instead for this year I'm waiting for the new MBA/P

I’m just not sure what is supposed to be the selling point this year. Maybe there’s a surprise feature? Cause like, if ONLY the UW camera is getting an upgrade, why the bigger camera bump for all three lenses? Apple needs to work on optical zoom, autofocus (particularly from the iPhone 12 Pro Max), battery life, and software. Instead, they’re putting LIDAR on phones for….reasons? And giving us portrait video. Who is guiding Apple’s iPhone R&D??!

I think the rumored updates are all fine if they’re in keeping for an “S” upgrade. So I am surprised it’s not going to be called the 12s, especially given superstitions about the number 13 in America. I am interested in seeing if there’s something a bit more to the upgrade to justify bumping it up an entire number. In the past I’ve felt S-level upgrades were worth trading up for. This time, I’m not sure. For now I’m just planning to upgrade from 12 mini to 13 mini at year’s end only because it will be the last mini Apple makes for awhile. I’m not sure I see anything compelling me to trade up from my 12 Pro Max.

September needs to hurry up, all I care about is the 120hz it will be a game changer for the phone
The only thing that'll be a game changer and make me consider switching from android is a bigger battery. Most people can't even notice the difference between 60 and 120 Hz, and 90 Hz is basically already an overkill.

$69 U.S. for iPhone X still a decent price IMO..

Mark my words:

Keynote : September 14
Pre-orders : September 17
Launch : September 24

Pandemic asides, iPhone launches are the most predictable thing in the world.
They were the most predictable...

The real question is what happens in 2022. The one quarter slip in TSMC N3 (presumably covid-related) puts a real spanner in the works.

- run A16 on N4 and have M3 and the other high end chips launch a quarter later on N3?

- run A16 on N3 and revert to country-by-country staggered phone launches like we used to have, so US sees phones in September, but everyone else is a quarter later (and Apple misses Christmas)?

- put the A16 on N3 for high end phones, and provide an "A16se" that's inferior (essentially same functionality, but running say 15..20% slower?) for the bulk of the new iPhones?

Just because you may not see a usefulness to 120Hz, a lot of others do. That being said, as someone who uses two devices on a daily… the 120Hz will be a welcome addition to my iPhone. It’s not all in his head… there is a tangible difference. Now, whether one cares about that difference is another story. You obviously don’t/won’t care, so why denigrate someone posting about a feature they’re looking forward to?
Asking because I’m interested. How is 120hz on a phone screen useful?

I am waiting for iPhone 12+1 only because my current smartphone is over 5 years old and starting to show it's age. Why would anyone need a new phone every year, even Apple sez people should update every two years and they are the people profiting off you.

While I think these are going to be great phones (especially that 120Hz screen) if they don’t have a blue color option I will probably skip this one. The 12 Pro will still be an outstanding phone for the next year or two so I don’t know if I’m in huge rush to replace it already.

iPhone 13 still has a port. But I can't think of any possible scenario where a 1TB iPhone would be of any meaning for probably everyone once the port is gone. What are you gonna store on that iPhone? Centuries of family photos and videos dating back to 1990? /s
As for 120Hz, good to have in playing games, but not so much everywhere else imo, cause even a 240Hz screen can't deal with system hiccups and freeze. Not to say 120Hz is useless, but just so that people should not pivot their purchase decision around this feature alone.

While I have begrudgingly accepted the removal of the headphone jack, a portless phone is going to create logistical difficulties for people who rely on the port to sync music libraries from computers, to listen to lossless audio, and to connect their phones to projectors and TVs that don't support AirPlay. Whenever I go to a hotel, I make sure to have an adapter and an HDMI cable so I'm not stuck watching network TV. Life is too short to watch commercials.

Right? Camera upgrades (if they were significant, but don't seem to be) AoD with the LTPO if it happens, etc. The iPhone is the one phone that seems to get all this hype, and then it's moved to the next year lol. I have an iPhone, and I like it, it just seems like a lot of things that the 14 is supposedly getting, was originally rumored on the 13. No big jumps allowed.

Apple’s response: we believe there is no demanding need for majority (Cupertino only) of our customers to connect their iPhone to a computer, to a car, or to anything. Wireless charging has been thriving in the past few years and we think it’s charging speed is so good that cable charging has lost its competitive edge. Without charging port, we are able to achieve 5 meter 90min waterproof rating, better than ever before.

In all seriousness though, Apple better find another way to offer connectivity to a computer, rather than just shoehorn their “courageous” charging port removal decision to end user.
