I took a ride in my buddy’s McLaren 600LT and I feel Britain’s sportscar industry is alive and well. Holy **** that car was fast an I worked at Porsche for 7 years so appreciate performance.
i get that, but there was a time when an everyday joe could afford a light

a mid 60s Austin Healey 3000 was $2500, something an everyday working man could buy if he wanted a light, tight fast handling true sports car of the day.
What's comperable today? Miata? bleh. The Lotus Elise was close when it first came out.
The Mclaren? Not so much at $250,000. The Loti have priced themselves out of reach of the common man as well, and they're not even really available in the states anyway.
Jaguar has become overpriced Indian weirdness.
Triumph, Austin, Jensen, Morgan (yes I know they still exist), Sunbeam, AC, MG, etc, etc, etc all gone. It's heartbreaking really.
There's nothing left that a regular guy can pick up that isn't a pig. Yes there are plenty of fast non-british pigs, but they're all still pigs, Mustang/Camero/Challenger are nauseating.
The Honda 2000 was the last true everyday every man's sports car available in the US.
