Well I'd like to thank you all...

I Bought a MBP 13" about 4 weeks ago, then read loads of rumours on here and other sites. So it went back to the Apple Store and got my money back. I loved it, great machine and my first Mac since my LCIII at university. So now I wait, money in my pocket, for an announcement, any announcement really, about anything. But if the announcement doesn't come soon I'm gonna end up waiting until February when the Macbook Pro will apparently wipe my rear end after I use the toilet.
Anyway I'm waiting and hoping for at least a 2.53 with 4GB for the same price as the low end MBP that I took back. Anything else is a bonus. I might buy a new Imac as well, but we'll see.

UK store still shows everything as shipping within 24 hours. What's different over there?

I noticed that too

No change in the UK, and the apple store US states the same. Difference is Apple's shipping estimates to it's resellers I believe.

Amazon Discounts

Amazon is suddenly (today--it wasn't there yesterday) offering discounts of $190 on MacBook Pros--so while the big changes are probably coming to the Mini, the iMac and the MacBook, something a bit more than just a small processor-speed bump is probably up for the MBP, whether that's Blu-Ray (if they're adding it to consumer-level machines, how can they not add it to to Pro machines?), a hard drive size bump or a price drop.

mac mini with blu ray please. i've been wanting to get a mac mini for a while to connect to my 52" LCD in the living room. adding blu ray would make it a no-brainer. i'll never leave my couch. :D

First of all I'm sorry for my mistakes :) I hope you understand.

Many many guys are eager to see a Blu Ray drive in a mac, but don't be disappointed if that does not happen any time soon. Not in the mac mini at least. I think that when Apple goes BR, at first they'll implement it in the Mac Pro, then they will add that feature across all the line and Mac mini will be last.

I'm always excited to hear about new Mac updates, even though I'm in no position to buy a new one anytime soon. Is that odd?

Same position over here and same excitement. I'm also a pc guy looking forward to get a MacBook Pro 15" (a 2,53 Ghz late '08 would be sweet) but I can't afford one right now.

I'm hoping it doesn't get updated since I just ordered a MBP to be delivered tomorrow

Ouch, that would be very bad...I guess they would not trade yours in for a bumped MBP, wouldn't they?

Anyway, what's all the fuss here? On Apple's website, they are still showing a "within 24 hrs" shipping across all the line (iMac and MacBook).

I'd be happy to see an official MiniDisplay Port to HDMI adapter with audio support.

Cheers from Italy.

For iMacs, our distributor is showing zero in stock and ETA dates ranging from 9/15/2009 to 10/13/2009 which possibly points to an Apple event on that Tuesday the 13th?

Their MacBook stock runs from a high of 484 to a low of 75 with only 15 MacBook Air's in stock.

All MacBooks show drop shipping as a possibility but the iMacs don't.

For what it's worth...

I'm hoping/praying the 2.53 13" MBP gets bumped down to the low end MBP. That's been holding me back. It makes sense because if the Macbook gets updated then it's hard to justify upgrading to the low-end MBP.

And it's almost time for a computer upgrade. My HP is ready to croak after not even 2 years and I wanted a Mac last time but was lured away by more power for a lower price.

How foolish I was.

Exactly three years ago my cousin accidentally poured a little milk on my sister's laptop while she was in Spain (Erasmus programme). She really needed a pc and I suggested her to get a white MacBook, but she bought an HP instead.

You know what? She regrets!

As I have said earlier in this thread I'm looking forward to get a mac and I'll give mine to her when I'll get a new one...I just don't know when this will happen.

This is very good info. I suppose an event on the 13th is possible but they'd have to get the invites out on Monday.

Japan , too .

Isn't there some US law that requires companies to be accurate with their stock and possible delivery dates?

Yeah, there is the possibility that they are just running low on stock because they are running low but then sometimes an accident isn't an accident.

Like, why now? Why now to start running short? It doesn't make sense on some level. Whatever... I'm excited. I'm hoping for an iMac quad core and a 13" MBP with a matte screen... Oh, and an Apple TV update too...

And Christmas IS coming...

I would love to see a Mac Mini refresh with a Blu-ray superdrive and HDMI 1.3 output for Dolby TrueHD/ DTSHD MA audio...

Quad Core Imac on the way

IF there is a quadcore Imac what chip will they use? I thought the Imac's use the laptop processor right now....

Also what about the MAC PRO..... isn't that due for an update....what would that update be????

opinions?

cool, hope its true about the MBP I'm getting one the end of November to replace my 22 month old white 2.4Ghz MacBook. I wonder if the cpu will get updated, I do really need the higher end model like.

I'm not bothered like. What people need to learn is this, i learnt it long ago.

"If you wait for something new in the Tech world, you'll be always waiting".

Now even if you buy it today and a new iMac came out next week, its not going to stop the iMac from working is it, just because a new one is out. I am only upgrading my Macbook to a 13'' MBP my because white one its lacking behind abit. I want the new NVIDIA graphics and illuminated keyboard & the more robust design etc.

Intel have got mobile Quad cores :D

Core i5/i7

The greatest need for any of these models is to leave Core 2 Duo behind. Core i5 or Core i7 is the future right now. The need for quad-core processors are extreme and it is so clear that they will come to boost the performance by GC and such. The only question is how many more "old" models apple will release before it is worth buying a new one. Seriously it isn't worth the money to buy another Core 2 Duo processor late 2009.
