RESERVE online PICKUP IN Apple STORE currently live and working

I broke down and went to the store in person. The Apple Store nearest to me was handing out cards for their stock based on what you wanted. I got there at 10:30a and there was a line of about 10 people (it grew while I was there). The store had plenty of silver and space gray ATT and Verizon 5S's to go around at all capacities (no gold, T-Mobile or Sprint anything, though). I got my 32 gb Verizon silver no problem at all. I'm sure they're gone by now (especially considering the silver was the overwhelming favorite of that line), but, I found it to be tremendously easy to take care of. If you can stay on top of the stores when they first open, you might get lucky.
 
That article doesn't say anything we don't already know - Apple has stopped the option of "In Store Pickup". What we don't know is if, or when, that feature will come back. It makes sense that they stopped it giving what appears to be a demand they can't keep up with. What will be interesting is whether they revert to their former approach of having a nightly inventory refresh with a set amount slotted for in store pickup.

It's all a mystery for now...
 
Maybe they are just going to switch it on when large shipments come in. I was a few seconds too late ordering gold and walked by the apple store about an hour after and they mentioned that they still had gold in stock. Unfortunately, I had to get back to the office and couldnt wait in line
 
cant believe how lucky i got placing my order in yesterday evening around 7 especially after missing out at around lunch time...cancelled my online order 7-10 days and will be picking up my 32GB silver at&t 5S this wknd...couldn't believe they had every color and size available when i placed my order either...the hour and half drive will be well worth it instead of the Oct 7-10 delivery i had
 
I am SO glad I got that taken care of yesterday.

Whew.

I had to wait an hour in the store, but I guess it was worth it with the stock so restricted now.

Scoop, you may want to verify that they will hold it that long. I just looked at my confirmation email from yesterday, and though it doesn't give a time that you have to pick it up by, I'm not sure they'll hold it for 5 days.

Pretty sure as a customer has to pay in full for the phone it's safe to say they will hold it to the weekend. It's technically no longer Apple's phone to sell!
 
Went to the Apple store this morning close to 10 AM. They had zero Sprint phones but plenty of Verizon and AT&T. I called 2 Sprint stores. The first one had nothing and the second had a 64GB Space Grey. I am now the proud owner of a 64GB Space Grey. Got lucky I guess...

I'm curious which stores had the Verizon phones and which model? I'm looking for the 16GB gold or silver. Thanks.

I might just have to try heading to the stores each day hoping I get lucky.
 
Just called my store. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes (IMO too long just to talk to someone in the store) the guy came on and told me they are completely sold out of every model. He said they got a message this morning saying that in store pickup is closed for now, which we obviously know. He also told me that they have been getting their shipments in the morning before the store opens, and suggested I get there when it opens for the best chance of getting a phone.

I work right near an apple store so I've been walking by on the way to and back from lunch. When I went to exchange by phone due to a broken touch id sensor, they claimed to have no gold, 30 minutes later, it was available for pickup online and they said they had it in stock. I was the 3rd person in line this morning and they had no gold. I think the shipment in the morning thing is bs

Well wasted my time going to apple store near me but apple employee told me that they had phones in today in the morning but they had people camped out since 7 am today for them. I see that people dont work anymore lol. They also new the store pick up system was down and i should get here early to camp lol. I dont have time for camping heres hoping pick up system goes back up.
 
Went to the Georgetown apple store and the woman with the cards said as far as she is aware they have had not a single gold sprint iphone come through the store but they have had some AT&T Verizon. Not cool Apple and Sprint!
 
Yesterday was just odd. No advertisement, I just happened to check the site. My Apple store in TN had all colors/sizes of ATT 5s at 5 pm. I cancelled my wife's online order for a 32 gb silver and ordered it for in store pickup. 30 minutes later, got the email it was ready and 5 minutes in the store, I was done. So random!!
 
Apple guy was surprised when I told him that I ordered my phone for pickup. There was a line of about twenty outside the store when I got there about 15 minutes after they opened this morning. Inside the store, everyone was busy. Anyway, I was in and out in 10 minutes.
 
i have the popup box open on where the zipcode is entered, from last 2 days even though it is disabled from apple.com and gold t-mobile never comes in stock.
 
The online reservation for in store pick up is available for the 5C but not the 5S >=[ Maybe the quantities are really low where they decided to remove it until further notice
 
can't believe this option is still disabled. it worked like a charm for me 2 days ago. still have not been able to purchase my wife's new phone because they took this option down.
