No. rxtiger posted Tuesday evening, so the "yesterday" mentioned would have been Monday when the in-store pickup option was available. Nothing to suggest it's become available again even for a period of time.
I talked to my local apple store yesterday and they told me that this was taken away due to the low stock that the stores have. They will bring it back "at some point" but for now, you just have to annoy the crap out of your local store by calling and showing up until you get lucky.
Went into Apple store in Aventura, Florida the other day. Ordered a phone from the store computers inside while hundreds waited outside for "a chance" to buy the phone. I used the pick up at store option. I could only order an ATT phone that was an upgrade. They didn't allow for unlocked versions via the website.
When I met with the store rep to deliver my phone I told him to return it and allow me to pay full price for the unlocked out of contract phone. Here is a pic of the receipt. I also was returning a "loaner" phone from apple since I had sold my previous iphone 5 the week before and need a phone until I got the 5S. I love that apple has the 30 day return policy.

Just want to add that my Apple store rep echoed this.
He said the day that the in store pickup was up "wiped out" their stock instantly.
Not sure if I posted my experience (which answers your question) in this thread or in another one, so I'll type it again.
Took me about 15 minutes; I was able to skip the line and be helped by the next available employee. That may vary by store, someone else posted that they had to wait in line.
Note that unless you already ordered for in-store pickup the point is moot until Apple reopens the ability to order a 5s for in-store pickup.
I keep checking like a crazy man and the pickup in store for a silver 32gb 5s was just on but now off AGAIN! This is so freaking frustrating 
There were quite a few stores that had the gold version in Los Angeles when I checked on Monday. Some stores had it up for at least 15 minutes if I remember correctly.
both my upgrades are used up. fearful of cancelling an order first then doing this online pick up thing only to find that someone beat me to it....then getting screwed and having no phones....
SOOOOOO, can I just add a new line(ATT), pay for it, go to the store to pick it up, return it right away, cancel the new line, cancel online order, then rebuy it and put this phone on my upgrade?? or will i be automatically stuck in a 2 year contract with no ability to rescind?

Got mine in just in time before they were out. Pretty pumped to get it either tomorrow or Friday.
Well got mines this morning by going to the store 30 minutes before it opened. They had a good amount of Gold & Silver iPhones today in the Atlanta store. Asked the person about the in store pickup and they said most likely wont put it back up until the lines get much shorter.
So annoying trying to get a 5s in NYC. Call any store and they will tell you that they allow lines to form at 6AM, and start selling the phone at 8AM.
It sucks for anyone that has a job. I don't want to be racist either, but the amount of Chinese lining up to buy the phone is recockulous. Hilarious even.
It sucks, but I am one of those people that will probably give up and not buy the phone when stock settles. I did the same when the 5 came out. I didn't care to wait and eventually kept my 4 because the "newness" wore out and I had time to think about the purchase.
It seems only the unemployed and Chinese have the time to buy a phone. lol

Just got back from Soho store (NYC) as I wanted to add apple care to my 5S and so many people were asking the guy helping me about the 5S and why the in store pick up was unavailable. The guy had no clue and even did not know that it was active on Monday. He kept telling me to order online or get on that line outside (there was a queue of people) even though he was not sure how much new stock they would be getting tomorrow.
Went to my apple store today and he said that at least 200+ people are lining up every morning at 6:00am to clear them out of there stock. I looked over at the cop that was a couple feet away and he said yep, its true. Can't believe people are still lining up for it in large quantities still.
So needless to say they told me the same thing they told me the last couple times I went there, they only have Spring iphone 5s's lol.
Went to AT&T cooperate store, they had nothing
Went to Best Buy they had 32GB black/silver AT&T(looking for 64)
Called Radio Shack, he said he has none in store but the local warehouse that all Radio Shacks pick out of had 116 in stock, all 32GB.
So needless to say they told me the same thing they told me the last couple times I went there, they only have Spring iphone 5s's lol.

How long before you guys think it won't take you days to find what you want in store? Like maybe a couple visits and you will hit whatever you want? Are we talking like 4+ plus weeks until things start to steady on availability?
