RESERVE online PICKUP IN Apple STORE currently live and working

I'm in Hampton roads Va. I called Norfolk store, they told me to just order one online if I really want one. I asked them if I came tomorrow morning, Will I get one - and that was their answer..
My general impression is that apple store employees know little to nothing, if not less than nothing about product stock / future availability.
do u think it's worth a shot to show up at the store tomorrow morning at 8? =\
My husband did that this morning. They told him they just let in people that has ordered iPhones online to pick up in the store. So not even worth it..

I called three stores in Virginia today and they said they're "trying" not to sell the 5S to walk-ins, and are telling people to order online.

yes they've told me that twice. but I've read here that people line up and they give out cards...
Hmm. Just one more reason I'm pretty content waiting for my online order to ship since the nearest apple store is an hour drive. It's really sort of comedic how unorganized of a process this has turned out to be.
I would've gotten one on launch day, I love waiting and the experience, but I couldn't, plus I was at work

Yes, I understand that, but then you should probably say this to all the people who waited in line outside stores hoping for Gold, found out there wasn't enough stock, and got a Silver or Slate Gray instead. There are multiple threads on here about people who are wondering if they can go in and trade for a different color. Just because I picked up a Silver today doesn't mean I am going to trade it for Gold later, I was saying I was going to keep my eye out. So far, I'm happy with the silver. But just because you haven't been able to get your hands on what you want doesn't mean you can take it out on me.
There's a huge opportunity to open up some new stores in the "ROVA" area ("Rest of Virginia"). There's just the Richmond VA store.
I was surprised that Woodbridge now has an Apple store.
Ranching cucamonga store has gold 64 att. Too far for me to drive :-(

The in-store pickup is constantly getting updated. I was checking for a 32GB Verizon silver and no stores were showing it available in NJ. I checked a few more times throughout the day and around 3:00 this afternoon I checked and found the Rockaway Mall Apple store had it, I reserved it, and picked it up.
