How long do you have to pick up the phone once you place your order online?

I'd like to know this answer also. If I can order in the morning and receive the email, can I wait till the early evening when I get off work to pick it up or do I have a limited amount of time to get to the store ?

This is hilarious, everyone's going crazy for a specific color but then when they get home, they're going to slap an ugly black rubber case on their phone.

I ordered mine this morning and received the confirmation email stating my iPhone was ready to collect within 20 minutes. Then when I logged into my online account there was a note next to the order stating, "please collect by 6th October".

So 6 days. Which in honesty confuses me slightly because I've paid for it, so unless they want to cancel my order and actually refund me they can't not keep it for longer than 6 days.

Either way, if you are planning on ordering in the morning and collecting the evening of the same day you will be absolutely fine.

Thanks a lot ! I'll be looking every morning until I can reserve one. That's great to know !

Anyone in the Portland, OR area able to order a phone online today for pickup? I've been checking the site all day and zero stock :(

I wish they would be a bit more clear about how the stock is going to be updated. Like, at a certain time or just whenever they come in or what.

Called an Apple Store and the worker said they won't accept walk-ins and will rely on the in-store pick up online. She also said they'll be putting aside a few devices for device only purchases that has to be bought when the store opens.

Something weird is going on. They have either allocated their shipments to online orders, are trying to limit supply since demand has died down at the stores, or are waiting to update their inventory later. A few store employees said that they always receive iPhone shipments on Mondays (as they don't get shipments on Sundays), but they just don't know when. Based on inventory from when the pickup went live last night, nothing new has been added (to the store by me at least). If they followed the same trend as last week, new stock would hit the floor each day by 2PM. Seems like they are intentionally not changing stock today.

You are spot on... not one single 5s was added to the Chicago area today (and my searches go all the way to Ann Arbor Michigan). No Slate/Gold/Silver, no 16/32/64, no AT&T, Sprint or Verizon were added in ALL of Chicagoland (there were a couple locations that said 'available' but they were available since the system turned on) today.

Something very fishy is going on. If online reservation is real, then that means Apple didn't sell a single iPhone in the third largest market in the US.

Did anyone walk into an Apple store in the midwest today and buy an iPhone?

The employee told me that they were told to stop selling in store around 11am.

Sprint 32GB Gold is available in Southlake TX store since afternoon. No Gold ATT anywhere though.

There were some gold 64GB ATT available at University Park Village (Fort Worth) earlier around 5pm, but they're gone now.

 some of us can actually take care of their iPhone's without putting a case on it.. 3G, 4, and 5, no cases, never broken...

You would think they could add the new stores to their online inventory database. The new Potomac Town Place store in Woodbridge isn't listed, even if you put in the exact zip code.

That's pretty sloppy for a company with such a (justifiable) reputation for attention to detail.

I'm unsure what to do. I'm trading in a 4S for the recycle credit, so it would be easier to go to the store, but my mom's 3G is dying rapidly and has gone from crappy charge to almost no battery life at all over the past 3 weeks.

She wants a 16GB silver and I want a 32GB gold, but I'm more concerned about getting hers for her. I thought she would be all over the 5C since she loves the feel of the 3GS, but she thought the 5C felt cheap and hated all the colors.

When did you order yours? I've been calling my local Apple Stores to see when I should check in to see if they have some in stock for in store pick up, and the only default answer I get is "We don't know exactly when we get them in or what we get in".

Chat I just had.

Last Monday, stock was updated mid-day. When I left work nothing was shown for gold 32g AT&T in my area. When I got home at 3:30 pm there was stock showing at a store 15 miles from me though the store two miles from me had nothing. I went and picked it up with no issues, bypassed the line out front. It seemed to be relatively real time last week....
