That is exactly what I wanted to hear. There is still hope for today.

Are you on eastern time?

They update midday. My silver 32 came in at 4pm and I caught it online after work. It was out of stock at 3:30pm and then in stock at 4pm.

Just came back from Apple in Hillsdale Mall, San Mateo NorCal. All 5S sold out. Probably 10 waiting in line.

I'm seeing tons of Verizon Space Gray and Silver in Texas. Also seeing T-Mobile in Space Gray and Silver in Texas.

Well that was nice of them to let the people wait in line

yea, I was there at 10am and people was waiting. When they opened people for other stuff than IP5s was let in.. at 1010 a dude came out and said they did not have any in stock.

Got the GOLD!!!

Replaced 32GB Space Gray with 64GB Gold(AT&T) at Stonebriar Mall, Frisco TX. I was checking since last night and it was showing unavailable for pickup. One of my friend dropped in around lunch time and he got 64 GB Gold. He called me and I rushed to the store. Luckily, they had another 64GB Gold in stock (They had 16GB as well). Replaced my phone paid the difference.

So conclusion is that, I don't know if we can really trust online stock info. Once in a while, it may be worth to visit the store.

Yeah if you can get one of the online ones ordered for pickup then it is a definite but what they show online is not a definitive guide to their available stock for whatever reason.

Polite Request: when you post regarding a phone you ordered online/picked up/bought in store/returned, please include:
Carrier
Color
Capacity

Thank you - it helps the rest of us get a better feel for what is out there...

Seeing nothing for any carrier or size within 150 miles of Charlotte, NC.

OK, here's the deal:

The online 'availability' pick up system is definitely working and working well. Just because you don't see it when YOU look doesn't mean that availability wasn't updated.

I'm seeing A LOT more iPhone 5S's available today in my area than I did last night.

Plenty of stock in NJ/NYC! Go get em!

Well for 16GB Space Gray and Silver for AT&T.

Now it is working! However I can't get a 64 or 32 Slate Gray anywhere near me!

Just checked online again and it seems a lot have been restocked in the Bay Area. Go get them :)

Just to clarify; I think you can certainly trust the online stock info, just don't assume that it represents ALL the stock in the store. From what we're seeing, it's apparent that some stock is probably allocated to those waiting on line and some allocated to online pickup orders.

Houston-Highland village had gold 16 for a few minutes, was gone by the time I tried to grab it.

Wow, lots and lots more stock!

I'm amazed. For the first time ever, I'm actually seeing more green fields than gray ones!

And they're updating it every minute. Just a few minutes ago there were literally twice as less available. I do the same identical zip code search each and every time for the same phone.

Gold AT&T available in:

Augusta, GA (64 GB)
NYC Fifth Avenue (64 GB)
Wayne, NJ (64 GB)
Murray, UT (64 GB)
Deer Park, IL (64 GB)
Greenville, SC
Charlotte, SC
Lexington, KY

that moment when you go to cancel the order and it has to be done over the phone and in the time it took you to almost get it done they sell out in stores so that now you can't pick it up down the street....
