Samsung uses different display tech as in amoled which in my opinion sucks.

Someone asked this before, but no answer.

If you buy an LTE model, will it be carrier unlocked? Or is it only to a specific carrier?

Seems to make sense to be unlocked since you don't need to buy on a contract or anything like that.

Carrier unlocked

Wall street wants it both ways

So Apple can ramp up production to meet the initial surge...then when some supply chain "analyst" says..."Apple cutting Mini production by one third" after a month...the headlines will read...MINI A FLOP!!

If Apple keeps supplies moderate to begin...that's also a "negative"

Wall Street is worthless.

i thought the primary thought was that it was easy to produce retina displays which is why all of apple's competitors are rushing to do them.

Of course the negative nancies will keep spouting this "its intentional" nonsense without grasping a serious sense of reality.

Name one other company that can have prepared enough supply to sell millions and millions of product using brand new technology and production processes, and still be in "short supply."

The fact is that Apple is simply a marvel of very low tolerance, very complex manufacturing in VERY large numbers. No other company on Earth can manufacture products in numbers close to Apple that use the same assembly processes, the same aerospace-grade precision, with cutting edge components. And yet, of course its not good enough. Apples manufacturing abilities already defy logic, and yet people still accuse them of "marketing tactics." Sheesh, people are just so self-centered and entitled these days.

Wow Bob. I thought I could believe in your hardware engineering skills. I guess not

This is called Mr. Cook's BS!!!! This guy loves to announce things he cannot deliver. Look where the GOOG stock is and where the APPL is. This guy is a joke.

Looks like some people might be getting gift cards under the tree this year!

Again, I'm hoping this is incorrect. If not, it would be a pretty rough oversight by Apple...Doesn't take a brilliant man to understand that products need to be on the shelf for holiday shopping season.

And it does not take a brilliant man to figure out that technology cycle does not match up with the calendar very well. If the panel supplier is already working as hard as they can, what can Apple do to move in the supply date?)

I don't doubt Apple is trying to make as many Retina iPad Minis as possible but... I wonder if these leaks are a way to create another launch 'event' with lines everywhere ;)

How's that working out for people still waiting for a 5s?

Nope. Geeks and hardcore Apple loyalists will wait. The rest will find alternatives to the iPad mini.

One of which might be the iPad Air.

I don't think Apple is deliberately holding back. Remember, launch supplies have always been tight (with the notable exceptions of the 3rd iPad, iPad 4, and original iPad mini - all of which sold well). Apple is a company where the designers win out over the engineers. They are always testing the limits of production capabilities.

No one has attempted a tablet with the PPI of the iPad mini with a screen that large. Only the Nexus 7 comes close, and the iPad mini's screen is 43% larger. So for every 70 screens Apple can have produced, Google can have 100. That's pretty significant.

... And yet, finally, for those with sharp eye retinas and sexy fashion enthusiasts, the super skinny and slim fitted clothes are getting common here in the USA. Lol

This x a million.

This headline is getting really old, its an obvious marketing measure to horde shipments when every product release for years is in "short supply."

Someone doesn't understand the stock market...at all.

Google outstanding shares: 334.16M
Apple outstanding shares: 908.50M
Google P/E ratio: 29.69
Apple P/E ratio: 13.26

Googles current stock valuation is based on having 2/3rd's less shares available combined with a very high P/E ratio.

I don't feel like doing the math for you, but if Apple had the same number of outstanding shares and the same P/E ratio as Google, it would probably be about 20,000$ per share, if not more.

I wonder how Samsung manages to avoid supply problems? And they sell phones and tablets which both have way more pixels than Apple devices.

I don't know. Maybe you should go on their forums and find that out for us. Take your time now. ;) Get all the information you need, not necessary to hurry back. ;)
