Review: InCase Snap - Clear for iPhone 4 (From Apple Case Program)

I am using the incase snap smoke now and i think it's the absolute best form fitting minimalist case for the iphone 4 so far. finally found the case i'm searching for.

having used the switcheasy nude, tunewear eggshell prior to this, those were really crap.
 
Received mine in smoke from Apple two days ago. I'm loving this case! I have a total of four cases now and this one is by far my favorite.
 
is anyone with the smoke one having slight fitment issues? i feel like one side of my case isnt fully "snapping" in. also on your flash ring is it a rubber ring? or just a black plastic ring? i got mine off ebay and not sure how it should be

Yes, the right side of mine sits away from the screen a touch more than the left side. But it's definitely in there, phone doesn't come out without some persuasion.
 
Sent the wrong case?

I received my incase snap smoke through the free case program and the case seems darker than any of the images I've seen online. As well on the back of the package it came in it was labeled as "black frost".

The case is very dark, I can barely see the apple symbol in the back in direct sunlight.

Thanks to anyone who can help answer my question

Much agreed. The other "free case" we got from the Apple program is the clear InCase Snap Case...which feels "slippery." I like it, but the Smoke InCase is by far my favorite. I also have 2 iSkin cases (Quartz Solo, Carbon Solo...which they sent as a replacement for the Quartz. Now BOTH iSkin cases have Sleep button issues...FAIL), and one iFrogz LuxeLean Gunmental case.

The InCase Smoke is by far my fave, followed by the LuxeLean and the Clear Snap Case. I really want to like the iSkin, I used iSkin almost solely on my other iPhones...but they just can't seem to get it right.
 
Just received mine today. It fits the phone very well and hardly adds any heft or thickness to it. Beyond that, the color is understated and nice. The only issue I see is that the screen is barely raised if you put the phone face down. Otherwise, it's a great case, although I wouldn't spend more than $15 for one.

I got mine about 2-3 weeks ago.. A coworker got his this week and it's a lot darker than mine... You are right.
 
I figured I'd attach some pictures showing just how dark it is. Perhaps they have revised the smoke colour.

The lighter version seemed to look a little better to me.

yea that one definitely does not look like the smoke one, that one looks solid black. the smoke is translucent.

smoke one is much better than the clear IMO. i didnt think there would be a big difference, but i have tried both. the clear snap in gets too many fingerprints and gets too slippery and oily too fast. smoke is much better than clear!

That is very strange. Not sure why your box even says black frost; online it says "smoke" as well.

Ok yeah mine is not that light either, mine is a very dark case. Mine does not say "made in china" on the left side either.

Edit:it does actually have the made in china on it but you have to take the case off to see it. I also cannot see the sim slot through the case. Must be a new darker version. No biggie I guess, still a nice case.

Edit 2: Checked the package when I got home, it says black frost.

mine's labelled black frost on the back of the box, but it's definitely not as dark as yours
 
I finally got incase to replace my defective clear case and the shipping reciept I received says black frost but when I spoke with the customer service rep I asked for the smoke case. Oh well I hope it looks good. In case customer support is very slow by the way.

the smoke / black frost are actually the same

Mine was doing the same thing until I took my back protector off and my side skins. There is just enough room for the phone to fit perfectly that's it. Anything more like skins or ghost armour, zagg etc etc will not fit comfortably.
 
can anyone post of a pic of their box that is labelled " black frost " mines dark as well but i see no labels of what you guys are speaking of.
 
I finally got my replacement case from incase and they sent me another clear case by mistake instead of the smoke (black frost) like I requested. I called them up and they said they would send the correct case, but at this rate I won't get it for another month. I did learn that there are actually two different clear cases going around. The defective clear case I first received has U10 engraved next to made in china. The new one doesn't have anything engraved next to made in china. I noticed from the pics of the smoke case on the previous page there are also numbers and letters engraved next to made in china. The new one is also much sharper around the camera hole and is curved over slightly at the bottom and top, which prevents water marking. While nicer than the old clear, the new clear case I received had a big scratch in it out the box which is still disappointing. I guess it doesn't really matter though since this case scratches very easily and will quickly become ruined. I wish they would just send me the correct case.
 
Ok, Just ordered this case through the free case program. I hope I get the translucent one and not the super dark, black one. I had the hardest time deciding between this or the pixel skin hd, but I have a NGP for good protection.
