Lol the title means nothing? He ends with, and I quote "I think that the iPhone 14 Pro is truly the best phone that Apple has ever released, crushing everything else before it. It easily earns my utmost recommendation."

Sounds like you didn't read the full article and just fished around for some negative comments about the phone.
Got to be honest, I came to the same conclusion.

The title doesn't match their images which were all way worse than the Google Pixel 6. The difference at 100% is absolute night and day.

In short they are tech reviewers like MKBHD, not professional photographers. They have no credibility to review a camera. MKBHD claims it's the best smartphone camera and that's his credibility down the pan looking at these photos.

Pretty sure a Pixel 2 would beat it.

It’s just a name 🥴

Who cares what reviews says. Do you really base the product itself on other peoples reviews?
People will determine whether they are going to purchase a product based on reviews. I mean for someone coming in who has no experience, what are you going to use besides reviews? Sure, I intend to go to a store and look the phone over, but my few minutes playing with a phone in the store isn't really a valid determining factor in a purchase like this.

The problem here becomes knowing which reviews to take seriously and which ones to ignore, because clearly not every review is useful. Some people will ignore perfectly good reviews because they don't tell them what they want to hear or because it goes against what they think. That's where it can get confusing. I've read all of the comments on this thread and have come away somewhat confused because it seems like some people are saying to ignore certain reviews because they say something negative in them about the cameras. So the question remains about which reviews are valuable in a making a decision and which aren't.

Meh. If you live in a country where Apple allows returns, then you give it a test run for two weeks.

I don’t actually listen to reviewers. They’re a waste of time. As if I’d ever listen to their recommendations.

Exactly, they are paying for it with higher plans. We have the choice to not do that, it is just a bit more cumbersome.

I personally use Mint Mobile ($15/mo/line) and pay for my phones outright. I used to pay $130 with T-Mobile.
Ok did not know it was possible in the US. For 130$ you pay the equivalent of two iPhones per year, considering the extra 400$ required.

Interesting perspective. I guess you keep your old phone instead of trading it in? Because for those that trade them in, what do they do if they choose to return the new phone?

I can see your perspective on reviews. There can certainly be some bias. But I keep going back to the city picture comparison between the Pixel 6 and the iPhone 14 and I have to agree with the reviewer that the iPhone 14 image looks terrible in comparison to the Pixel 6 image. That isn't bias. It's comparing two images taken by two different phones.

To be clear, that $130 was total for two lines. So with two lines, I save $100 a month.

After two years, I’ve got about $2600 to buy phones or not. In my budget, I still set aside $130 a month to put money aside for phone replacements.

Nothings is for free, it is not magical. You're only paying your phone in your monthly plan that is all...

Carriers in the U.S. often have deals involving trading, switching, adding a line, upgrading, etc. to try to lock you in for 2 to 3 years (and they hope longer) and typically on an upper tier plan. If someone is willing to do that, they can get a "free" or nearly free phone but there is the added commitment, higher plan cost, etc.

In France we have the choice to pay the phone ourselves, with cheap plans (roughly 10 euros per month) or pay the phone in our plan (around 50 to 60 euros per month). In the USA you just don't have that choice.

I think there are probably just as many if not more plan and phone purchase options in the U.S. as there are in Europe. People here in the U.S. can go with cheap plans, expensive plans, pay for their phone outright or over time, trade, sell privately, etc. Lots of choices and combinations.

I'm sure the 14 sucks, just like every iPhone released every year sucks. :D:D

But....coming from a two year old SE that gets about four hours of battery life, has a dim screen that can I can barely see in daylight, is awful to type on with my large fingers, lags, and whose camera crashes when I try to take a photo....I'm guessing the 14 Pro will be an upgrade.

Hope you enjoy each moment of your upgrade! :)

Ya 13 pro has better saturation.

the 14 pro only excels over the 13 pro in one area and that is night time telephoto lens sharper and less noise.
Are the photos being compared the same format?
If someone is looking at a 14 PM RAW photo, it’s never going to look as good as a standard shot, from a 13, 12, 10, etc. unless it is processed in an image editor.
RAW photos can look blah if not processed. The point of shooting RAW is they contain much more information which lets it be processed to produce the best image possible.

Disappointed with the photos to be honest, to me the 13 Pro photos looks much richer and more depth. For me the Camera was the major motivation to upgrade but now I think I will just keep my 13 Pro.

I wonder if they intend for you to use one of the photographic styles...that perhaps it's easier to use them to enrich a lightly-saturated photo than to desaturate a heavily-saturated one.

And to this day, I still love and use my SE1.
I might finally upgrade sometime in the next year as I peruse good 13 Mini deals, especially lightly preowned ones, but I'm in no rush as I still love the SE1 and honestly don't want anything bigger at all (even if just slightly larger like the 13 Mini).

I picked up an SE (latest gen) earlier this year to use for a special purpose, but I like it so much I'll just use that when (if) my 8+ gives up the ghost.

Hi! What do you think of this comparison between the photos of the 13 Pro Vs the 14 Pro?

I don't know what to think about the cameras and the photoso_O

I don’t think much about it. Can I point and click and get a decent pic? Yes? End of me thinking about it.

A little annoying that he doesn't put the last year's Pro/Pro Max models, I guess he's testing whatever the currently on sale lineup is?
