His reason was, "they don't officially sell the 13 pro anymore!"

For real? I guess the 13 Pro will drag the 14 Pro
So he's doing the line up as Apple offers it, that's fair. We can see the results of his battery testing from last year for an idea.

Now I couldn't go that long without upgrading. I think I'd go crazy lol.

My friend I mentioned in my earlier post has my old XS Max. We were out at a nice new bar about a month ago sitting outside and I took some nice pics using night mode on my 13 PM and he took a few with his phone and they looked awful. If that were me I'd have to upgrade the next day but the camera isn't that big of a deal to him. It still takes good daylight pics and he's happy with that. I actually tried to sell him my 13 PM and I'd get the 14 PM but he said no he'd stick with the XS Max. I'm really glad he did now.

This is the reason I’m considering upgrading from my XS. Low light is blown out of the water by even the 12.
I’ll probably keep the 14 Pro for at least 4-5 years.

Coming from an 11 Pro Max, I watched Marques Brownlee's and Peter McKinnon's reviews. For my purposes, including for photography and video, I think that the upgrade to a 14 Pro Max won't make enough of a difference to justify the cost. I've decided to wait for iPhone 15.

I might well have come to a different conclusion if I used an iPhone as my principal still or video camera, but I don't. Next year, when I think that the upgrade might be more significant and I expect that Apple will move to USB-C.

Same boat as you. I'm considering cancelling my 14 Pro Max preorder to wait for the 15 Pro (Max, Ultra). I really want USB-C for my data transfers and a periscope lens is of interest too. If the 14 Pros had USB-C, it would be a no-brainer for me. For now, I'll likely stay with my 11 Pro Max.

Coming from an iPhone X to the Pro Max 14 is going to be the stuff of dreams, not bothering with any reviews as cannot help but feel they are not always independent of influence.

Because the Night Mode feature was introduced in the 11. I have the XS Max and don't care that much about low light performance but it IS one of the things that the 14 Pro adds that is nice. Honestly, no one feature made me get the new phone, but there's a lot of little things that add up.

Here you go https://www.tomsguide.com/reviews/iphone-14-pro

unlike the rest of the reviews they actually did tests. i swear most of the reviews on the phone is vague and personal which doesn’t offer much to go off of. We needs stats and confirmation of apples claims. Toms guide discovered 2000 nits doesn’t get hit and they found battery life subpar.

gizmodo, tech radar and basically 80 percent of reviewers were sucking up to apple big time.
Confirmation bias much?? Usually that takes more than 3 days of membership🙂

Seems like it should’ve been called the iPhone 13S pro….instead of iPhone 14 pro.

reviewers are saying for the most part with one or two scenarios the camera differences between 13 pro and 14 pro are almost indistinguishable.

i mean honestly it’s the same review year after year for the most part.

but for me I am disappointed about the battery life. I read one review ran a test where the 13 pro beat the 14 pro by 2 hours.

The screen also apparently never hit 2000 nits in one reviewers test…

So it’s looking one minor upgrade and a lot of downgrades…

‘oh boy precursor to I’m returning it because thread

One of my biggest underrated disappointments is the lack of modem upgrade. I’m in a low service area because of a lot of trees and hills so low cell service is a not insignificant battery drainer.
X65 v X60 no different?

My Android friends has always said Apple is all about marketing. I always brushed it off. After the iPhone event and the reviews today .. I am starting to believe them. The 14 Pro is barely any different in the camera department compared to the 13 Pro but Apple's marketing threw out numbers like 2x, 3x better or the biggest leap for the iPhone. From now on, I will not watch Apple events anymore, lol.
Your friends are marketing also. Every company is marketing. Apple isnt special and neither is anyone else.

All of my Android friends always try to convince me their phone is the best but when it comes time to take pictures everyone goes straight to my iPhone because the quality is better. I dont say anything. I just think welp!!! 😂🤷🏾‍♂️

You might prefer the processing but the camera is objectively worse than a cheap Pixel. It's about 5 years behind.
