Disappointed with the photos to be honest, to me the 13 Pro photos looks much richer and more depth. For me the Camera was the major motivation to upgrade but now I think I will just keep my 13 Pro.

Ya 13 pro has better saturation.

the 14 pro only excels over the 13 pro in one area and that is night time telephoto lens sharper and less noise.

unlike the rest of the reviews they actually did tests. i swear most of the reviews on the phone is vague and personal which doesn’t offer much to go off of. We needs stats and confirmation of apples claims. Toms guide discovered 2000 nits doesn’t get hit and they found battery life subpar.

gizmodo, tech radar and basically 80 percent of reviewers were sucking up to apple big time.

You do realize that the review you linked here has the title "iPhone 14 Pro review: Pro Perfection"

I'd look again for another review that says "iPhone 14 Pro: Meh" because that one isn't it.

Pretty mediocre review from Tom's Guide here 😔😔😔 major buyer's remorse now

I have only seen two of the reviewers Peter McKinnon and MKBHD. Peter really enjoyed the camera and that was pretty much all of his review and it was mostly about the recording not really the photography aspect of it. He did mention that video (if you watch it) was done completely by the iPhone 14 Pro so take that how you will. MKBHD said in his video he wasn't going to really dive into the camera system and will let others do that, but he really enjoyed the "Dynamic Island" and how actually useful it was and seemed to enjoy the AOD and only critiqued that it seems (to him) that because of the AOD brightness he noticed a little dip in battery life compared to the 13.

Sounds like mkbhdhd is a clown. Doesn’t dive into camera but also says it’s the best camera in a smartphone.

But from what I’m seeing is that most won’t be able to see differences from 13 pro pics. Unless you want to play with raw pics in good lighting.

I’m guessing many will be disappointed here having been misled thinking 48mp meant a leap in quality.

its clickbait.

the Title means nothing when the metrics and pictures they are presenting are meh

Lol the title means nothing? He ends with, and I quote "I think that the iPhone 14 Pro is truly the best phone that Apple has ever released, crushing everything else before it. It easily earns my utmost recommendation."

Sounds like you didn't read the full article and just fished around for some negative comments about the phone.

MKBHD is one of the best and least biased reviewers on YouTube. I'd watch more of his videos before you make a snap judgement about him.

Zoomed in detail on a low-light photo taken with a 1-inch sensor camera vs iPhone 14 Pro 48MP ProRaw

Putting on my tin foil hat one of two things both equally hilarious

1- THAT out of touch they thought this was a good look
2- purposefully wrecked the site for notoriety and morbid curiosity clicks

The content IS crap too! They’re a joke

They’ve always been a joke.

Seems like it should’ve been called the iPhone 13S pro….instead of iPhone 14 pro.

reviewers are saying for the most part with one or two scenarios the camera differences between 13 pro and 14 pro are almost indistinguishable.

i mean honestly it’s the same review year after year for the most part.

but for me I am disappointed about the battery life. I read one review ran a test where the 13 pro beat the 14 pro by 2 hours.

The screen also apparently never hit 2000 nits in one reviewers test…

So it’s looking one minor upgrade and a lot of downgrades…
The reviews for the majority of buyers are completely and totally irrelavent.

For example. Not everyone upgrades every year. My cousin is upgrading from an iPhone 11 to an iPhone 14 Pro so for him, this is going to be a gigantic update he's going to be happy with. Knowing him he'll keep the phone again for a few years.

We need to stop judging every phone release like EVERYONE upgrades every single year

they are judged this way because thats how apple positions themselves. They hype it like it’s the a huge leap. So they will be judged that way.

nevertheless the iPhone 14 pro is clearly a great phone overall but it’s clear at this point that it takes 2 to 3 generations to see serious leaps and changes between the devices. ( except for the Apple Watch series Probably takes 5 generations).

I think Nilay at Verge had the most balanced review. His conclusion, that the 13 Pro felt like the culmination of a lot of ideas Apple had been brewing since the X, while the 14 Pro feels like the start of a new set of ideas, makes a lot of sense. The 13 Pro in many ways seems like a more refined experience because it was essentially about making the best iteration of what they had been building before. The 14 Pro is introducing new ways of interacting, new ways of engaging, so it doesn't feel quite as smooth because these are new ideas that have yet to mature.

As usual, the idea that you would need to upgrade year over year is silly. Coming from a 12 Pro or older, the 14 Pro should feel fantastic. Coming from a 13 Pro, it'll feel more meh.

i agree with this.

Lol ok. But watched his video today which I don’t normally do. He said I’ll leave the deep camera dives to others. But then proclaims later that the camera is best in class. He says this more than once.

Maybe he’s good I don’t know. But this was more of a preview than review aimed at pleasing apple for sending it to him early and getting his likes.

Apple wants you to buy the Pro so they aren’t going to make the cheaper phone an intriguing purchase. It’s just there to fill up a hole in their lineup.

That guy is biased. Every photo wins Pixel over iPhone. Like, what??? Not even is a tie. Just pixel won in almost every photo.

I hope I made the right choice with space black.

In some lightings, the Deep Purple looks great!

but the space black probably has that more consistent look, I dunno!
