Yeah, but the 6+ is clocked faster, has a sharper screen and better battery life. But they're both great.
You forgot IOS.

But I can still use the 6 comfortably in one hand and in my daily life (fits in pockets, gym, school, work, etc.)

But yes, they're great. Especially the better battery. I had to order the 6+ for others and they're going to like it.

So the 6+ has better battery and display (not sure about performance) but is reviewed at a slightly lower score than the 6.... primarily on the enormous size factor?

I can't stand when people use the term "piece of kit"

Agreed. A kit is defined in the dictionary as something you build yourself. If the iPhone came in pieces for you to assemble, I'd gladly call it a nice piece of kit.

I understand the slang/incorrect usage of the term and it's a pet peeve.

The 6 has been rated slightly higher than the 6+ because of size. The 6+ performs better, better screen and better camera... Oh and better battery. For those of us not minding the bigger size this is a mega WIN.

The fact that the 6 is scoring higher (albeit just by a slight margin) than the Plus is blowing my mind. Sure, the Plus is huge, but it's a much better overall device based on battery life, camera, and screen alone. The Note 3 never scored less than the S5, and it's also a huge phone, so I don't get it lol.

Side note, still super excited for my Plus. The Note 3 was my favorite device ever based on the screen size, battery life, and versatility. I feel the Plus will even surpass that love for me.

its important to keep in mind that these prelimenary reviews are made by sites that sympathise with apple - otherwise they wouldnt have received the phone early.

pretty dubious reviews when you read a 90 grade to the iphone 6 compared to a 88 to the htc one m8 and 89 to the new moto x.

look at the note 3 rating. They give honest reviews, live with your decision.

Keep in mind the Plus has more space to work with, technically it is even more impressive to put all of what it has (except OIS, landscape) into the 4.7'' form factor that is easy to use for the hand. That said, Apple could have made the Plus better than the Samsung by making it shorter, thinner, lighter, but Apple didn't, and as the engadget reviewer pointed out, the Samsung Galaxy actually felt better in the hand than the iPhone Plus, not to mention also the iPhone Plus felt more "slippery". Its a design issue, going big, but not doing enough to make it well designed at that 5.5'' form factor.

Pretty much what I have been reading:

The main reason why the 6plus is scoring slightly lower then the 6 is because Apple didn't take advantage of the larger screen like some people would have liked. The Note has a lot of extra functionality that the s5 doesn't have alas the s pen/stylus/plastic pointy thing. The size is also another factor but the fact that the plus is just a bigger iPhone is the reason the score is a little lower.

I personally think with iOS 9 we might see some added benefits of the 6plus vs the 6. Maybe next year there will be a bigger difference between the two devices.

It's also Apple first attempt at a phablet. Next iterations will most likely be better.

The verge rated the 6 better as well

rating shouldn't matter since it's very subjective to the person reviewing the phone. talking points/experiences/real world usage are important, not whether the reviewer had issues holding the phone with one hand for long periods of time.

Obviously, but this almost tells me it may be better to go for the 6, and wait till next or future years for more phablety stuff. Who knows, maybe OIS and the other stuff I care about will make it in the 4.7'' (or 5'') form factor by then.

No...the best decision would be try the 5.5 inch phone. If don't like the size, no iteration will work in the future, trimming bezels can only help so much.
