I was actually going to post about this myself. I nearly returned the wallet when I got it, but stuck with it, though my use pattern seems to be very different from Dan's.
I have 3 cards in the wallet, my driver's license, my Apple Card, and my work ID which doubles as a door opener based on the door sensors. When I'm at home, I just have my phone on me. When I head out, I grab the wallet and attach to my phone and then grab my car keys.
In these WFH days, I thought maybe this was working because I just had a bunch of quick trips. Last weekend, I had my first out of town trip with the wallet. I replaced my work ID with my hotel room key, and it worked fantastic. I actually took my full wallet with me, because I thought I would need it on the trip, but it never left my car. I never wanted it once.
Things to note:
- The very slim form factor is awesome
- The wallet has never come close to accidentally falling off
- When I need one of the cards, I reach in my pocket and slide the wallet off while leaving the phone in my pocket. Then return and reattach in my pocket without ever taking the phone out.
- I love that it works the same naked or with a case.
- I used to use more than 1 credit card, depending on which rewards were better at different places (eg, one card had better rewards for gas). Now, I use Apple Pay when I can. When I can't, I find the convenience of the slim form outweighs whatever rewards I'm not getting.
- I never carry cash anymore. This is really never an issue though, as I haven't paid cash for anything in several months and rarely did before that. In times when I need cash, I just take cash with me in my pocket.
