I like the wallet. Around the house I don't bother with it. Whenever I leave the house, I just snap it to the back and throw the phone in my pocket. I've had no problems with the wallet coming loose. I keep three cards in it.

I think the price was a little steep, but so far I'm quite happy with it.

I've been using the MagSafe wallet since it was available and it works flawlessly, as expected. Based on his initial review I was expecting to return it on day 7. I figured it was falling everywhere, the cards would be hard to get out.
Instead here's what happened:
- I realized his pants are too tight. Not once have I ever had the wallet fall off the phone by coming in or out of the pocket. If this falls off in a pair of standard men's pants, chances are they're too tight. That's a personal problem.
- I use it daily - my wallet, ID, credit card and $20 is now with me wherever my phone is. Which is everywhere.
- I take it off when I don't need it. Once I get to work, I remove it and put it to the side. When I get home from work I actually stick it to the fridge so I always know where my wallet is.

It's a wallet that works great, that you can take off if needed. I like it instead of the bulk of other wallet cases - they are generally very bulky or very flimsy. I had a wallet case for the first few weeks that the 12 was out and was so happy to rid myself of it. The plastic door would open after a month of use, and it made it quite noticeable in the pocket.

Once the whole world starts accepting apple pay, and drivers licenses become digital this product will be obsolete. Until that day, you'll find this on the back of my iPhone. Or on my fridge. Sure beats a wallet sitting in my back pocket giving me sciatica.

Agree with your sentiments. I thought I’d save money and buy a no-brand wallet on eBay. It seemed okay but I wasn’t sure if the magnets were as good as the Apple product. I tried it out in an Apple storage. They weren’t and the fake wallet fell off easily. It was only $8. That’s when I bought a genuine one and am pretty happy with it.

Digital driver licenses really need to make their way into use a lot faster. Currently, only a few states have it.

As for insurance cards, my insurance company, Liberty Mutual, has an app that allows you to add digital insurance cards to Apple Wallet. It will show various information about my policy for the cars. There is a disclaimer, though, that says that the wallet app may not be sufficient for proof of insurance.

My car insurance has digital versions but I'm concerned more about health/dental/vision here. My state doesn't have digital ID yet, hopefully soon.

another "you are using it wrong"

justifying a flawed product by saying 'you should have your wallet in your pants most of the time' is pathetic..... it's like saying it's okay to have charging port at the bottom of the mouse because you rarely charge it.

Come on Macrumor... you can do better than this
Can you show a product that does this right? No, you can't. Technically it's the first iteration of a new product so yeah, you can probably use it wrong.

Gotta say mine never leaves the back of my iPhone, admittedly that may change when I finally pull the trigger on the new Belkin stand but I've got the old lightning one right now and had it for several years with no fail, having the wallet on the back doesn't matter with that charger.

I've loved the wallet since I got it, I've got the Apple leather case for my 12 PM and the wallet sticks like glue to that, no idea how good or bad it is without the leather case but it's served me well since I got it.

Arguments of overpriced and only a card holder while I can see that point of view don't apply to me switched to minimalist card holders years before this even existed and a couple of them cost at least double the price of the Apple wallet, so for me the fact it's always stuck to the back of my phone means I've never been in a situation where I've got my phone but not my cards if I need them.

One improvement would be holding more cards, yeah it can hold 3 but that's at a pinch, totally agree that 4 is a no go but should be, don't see more than that being a benefit otherwise where do you stop 5-6 add a money clip, the thing would be thicker than the phone but 4 sounds about right to me!

Aside from that love it after months of use!

The wallet was too small, with only three cards, for my tastes (5 would have been more useful).

But if ya got a magsafe battery attachment, I'll take one of those.

I've been using mine as my primary wallet on my iPhone mini for months. Admittedly it adheres much better to the mini than the other models, but I've had 0 problems or complaints with it whatsoever.

I've had zero issues with mine. It currently holds my driving licence, business account debit card (which won't work with Apple Pay) and a £10 note. I don't use credit cards, everywhere from the supermarket to my village shop takes Apple Pay, paying for fuel is done via an app. Never had a problem with it coming off - it's on my phone when I want it to be and not when I don't.

And I think it looks great too.

The wallet is perfect for my use. I had a 3 card & 2 business card setup to begin with.
But three cards are perfect for me. ID/drivers license, public transport card and one business card just in case. My bank cards are in Apple Pay and a spare card is in my backpack/briefcase, but I haven’t used that card in months.

When I walk to my desk, I push the wallet off and click my 12Pm on the charger. When I leave the desk, I push off the charger and click on the wallet. All with one hand, one smooth movement.
If anything the leather wallet get a bit stuck to my leather iPhone case, but it never falls off incidentally.

What’s interesting to me is that people are saying it’s a stupid product, or a flawed product and trying to project their usage as the “only” way to use a wallet or a phone. For me, the wallet works. I carry a license, personal cc, and business cc. For everything else I have them in Apple Pay or a pic saved for insurance cards. The wallet has never fallen off my phone, but I don’t wear skinny jeans.

Next year I might get the iphone mini just to carry less.

Their green goals are better than many Companies but they also have disposable or unrepairable products such as the AirPods & iPad which contribute to e-waste. Pros & Cons. Not a perfect world
True, but iPads, iPhones, and Macbooks have a very long usable life (people still buy old iPhones, Macs, and iPads on eBay, and many Macrumors Forums members are rocking Macs from ~2012). And at the end of their useful life, they can be turned in to an electronics recycling center, including at Apple.

Until you go to charge with MagSafe.
I'm not a fan of the Apple Magsafe Wallet. But I don't think incompatibility with Magsafe charging is a ding against the wallet - because it's so easy to detach the wallet before charging and reattach it after charging.

the wallet, ram and 11-15w wireless are flagship level changes vs the 11Pro to me. Different strokes for different people. Not everyone needs to like it.
Magsafe has made a pleasant change In the way I use my phone, with it third parties now have a way of making accessories that are as good or better than First-Party. This is what the smart connector wished to accomplish. Sure, companies are not giving MFI MagSafe, but for something that doesnt charge I don’t mind magnets only because of the use cases It opens up.

I don’t like it. I found I had to keep the cardboard thingy in it or I wouldn’t be able to get my ID or cc out. So with that piece of cardboard in I can only put my ID and a $20 bill for those just in case moments. And yes, it has slid off when I’m taking it out of my pocket or purse. Once it fell off onto the ground. I didn’t see it right away. As someone said, lose your phone lose your ID.

Update on that Moft wallet - not bad. I wasn't sure if I'd keep it, but, as another member mentioned, the kick stand is great. I snap it to my phone when I leave the house. Switch it to the other pocket during the day when I'm out, or leave it on the phone. Snap it off when I get back home. I love using the kickstand for watching YouTube or the news when I'm doing chores or what not. It's not comfortable to hold when it's on the phone, but you can just snap it off...for $35 bucks it serves my purpose more that a $59 or whatever apple version. Plus I love that it's not real leather - just a personal pref.

To think, I would never discovered Kaiser and AAA both have Apple Wallet virtual cards without purchasing this accessory. Have I been lugging around more cards than I’ve needed for years? That's significant and worthy of such a purchase and experiment. In trying to be more optimistic, I’d say this was a win. Now, I wonder what other tools have been converted.

Maybe someone has mentioned this, but I've had a lot of trouble sometimes just getting the cards out of the wallet. Seems like maybe it's worse in colder weather? Anyway, I've had some awkward moments at checkout when I can't get a card out of my $60 wallet. I only use 2 cards.

A lot have done a u turn on the magsafe wallet and now really enjoy it. Now I’m finally going back into the office and travelling i plan to pick one up. I only use 3-4 cards anyway so makes the most sense

In my opinion it’s way too gimmicky.
I used to think so too, until now 4 months later with 25-30 Celsius early summer and not wanting to wear more than short or breathable track pants or linen pants.

the weight of a wallet in the front pocket plus keys plus phone has annoyed me more than ever this week. I remember carrying keys only as a kid in the summer and then a phone with small change and being annoyed with the keys in track pants then too.

so here I am revisiting MagSafe wallet threads. I’m curious how women deal with summer dresses if they don’t wish to carry purses? (Oh wait my sister just overlooked what I’m typing and said “bras”) lol.
