i almost didn’t buy this wallet because of all the stupid comments and reviews like the one from this website but thankfully after trying it out myself I can say that it’s a great wallet and the whole “it’s not secure enough” issue is a bunch of hog wash. These magnets are strong and they don’t come off as easily as it’s been made out to. If you’re okay with 3 cards, buy this wallet.

I love it. It's all I need. The people who have problems with it falling off should consider ditching last decades trend of skinny pants and choose a new and more modern style. I haven't had no problems with the strength of the magnet. Then again, I am using an Apple case with the wallet.

Feels bad, to each their own. I wouldnt mind giving the consumer options, 1 vegan, 1 regular

Options are good, see what sells well with the consumer and adjust the product offering.

I think Apple is not unlike us human beings in that regard. They will do what they can for the environment when it is convenient for them to do so, but they are not going to bankrupt themselves in the process.

The MagSafe wallet is a niche product and will likely sell in low enough quantities that we are not going to see any appreciable reduction in the amount of pollution reduced even if Apple does switch to a more environmentally-friendly alternative.

Conversely, the iPhone ships in large enough quantities that the reduction in package size and material will be significant enough when multiplied by that many tens of millions each year, over the next many years that Apple keeps this up. Sure, some of this will be offset by the additional 20w chargers that some consumers will buy. And I just had a new nike watch band delivered to me, which entailed a lot of paper packaging for what is basically 3 rubber straps. But it should still result in a net improvement regardless.

Apple is not a very hard company to read.

While I like some of the environmental improvements and details Apple is incorporating such as paper wrapped around the power adapter for computers, paper sheet on the iPhone screen, etc it just seems an oddball choice to not provide a vegan leather choice. I am not sure if you are familiar with the processing/tanning of leather but it has a significant environmental impact, plus the welfare of animals. I am not the one advertising and pushing this "Environmental Friendly" outlook its Apple. If a company is going to talk the talk then walk the walk too.

I am not sure what any company or person considers low volume/sale product but I suspect Apple has gone through the process to design, contract and sell a niche product. Granted it does not compare to sales of any iPhone or even cables, dongles or adapters but its adding to its accessories division and that matters. It's just an oddball product considering Apples push for ApplePay and Wallet with more incorporation of things such as Transit Pass'. Why 3, why not 4, why not 2? Curious behind the "logic" that's all.

I have one on my mini 12 and it's awesome! I did once think I lost it only to find it under my chair.

I carry my driver's license, my debit card, and a VISA Debit card. I don't like to use my personal debit card unless it's to get cash out of my ATM, so I use the VISA debit card. The downside is that the VISA card costs like $6 to buy. So, get on that has $200-$300 on it. Connect the VISA card to your Amazon account and just in case you lose the wallet, you can still buy something on Amazon before someone else can use it. :)

I’ve been using it for months it’s always on my phone wherever I go out. Magnets are strong enough not sure why people are bitching. It never falls out of the phone when I put my phone into front/back jeans pocket. No, it’s not a full replacement for your regular wallet, I only put two cards - driver license and credit card. I have lots of cards in my Apple Pay. Why would you need to carry 10 cards?
If you’re all in on Apple’s ecosystem, why would you need a separate credit card? That leaves you with a 60 dollar cover for your drivers license. Which you could easily leave in your car. No more wallet needed.

My point is, if it’s not a replacement for a regular wallet, you still need a wallet. Mine is filled with cards. I have 2 debit cards (not compatible with Apple Pay), medical insurance card, ID card (mandatory), drivers license, gym card, badge to enter my work place, public transit card, ... I would love to have it all stored digitally in my phone, but sticking it to the back of my phone is just way too gimmicky. I rather have Apple focussing on expanding their Wallet app.

I went for a MOFT one instead, and it's been more useful as a stand :) It just over half the price of the Apple one though and twice as functional!

I do attach it to the back of my phone when I go out, but it only has one card inside as otherwise it feels a little too bulky. I have more cards in my Apple Wallet, which tends to be used more often and the MOFT card is simply a backup or for cash withdrawals.

I can't comment on Apple's leather pocket magnet but using the MOFT Snap-on Stand & Wallet I love the magnetic release ability, strong enough for my back pocket but quick and easy to detach when I want to attach phone to a stand and works out great to use as a stand portrait or landscape…Plus now I have nice mount for in car use! The magnet is sufficiently strong and the three card limit is fine… one driver's license, one credit card, and a debit card. Even the debit is optional as I just don't use cash—ever.
The only problems I've ever had are with two medical offices that insisted on a physical insurance card so they can scan it and lie about "privacy" saying they can't use electronic communications—I don't have a physical card so when I just say I'm leaving they suddenly relent. One of them sends me snail mail postcard reminders for my dental visits with name and time scrawled over the card yet they won't text me at the same number they have no problem calling asking me for "confirmation" that I'm coming for my appointment but they don't use an identifiable phone number so they leave lots of threatening voicemails :)

Just ordered one last week after misplacing my wallet for 24hrs. Those minimalist wallets are great BUT can fall out of my coat pockets by accident. I’ve found my wallet in my driveway, closet. Never had that problem with a traditional wallet. I’m hoping the magnetic wallet will help with my weird issue.

I’ve kept mine attached to my phone at all times since I got my launch day 12 Pro Max and I absolutely love it. I’ve always had a wallet case on past iPhones, all the way back to my iPhone 4, so this just makes sense for me.

Remember when Apple was gonna kill the wallet?

They have been, hence why Apple Card gives 3% cash back at places like Panera, Mobil, and Walgreens all the time with Apple Pay. So it's a great gas card as well if you can use it.

Unfortunately all the world hasn't caught up to Apple Pay or electronic licenses. We have electronic insurance cards, and you can always keep a paper in the car if-needed.

So the most one would need is 1 credit card, maybe 1 debit card if you need ebank/atm/cash situations, and a license if not electronic.

I have one physical card as backup not all places take NFC pay. I still need ID in wallet to buy alcohol. Yes I can leave in the car but I have to remind myself to take it with me. Like I said my MagSafe wallet is always attached to my phone I never forget my ID and CC. It works for me it may not work for others that’s fine. If Apple makes the magnet stronger someone else will bitch it’s hard to come off. It never ends there always a Karen.

It’s incredibly tiny and literally feels like there’s nothing in there.
hey now, don’t be so harsh.

lol in all seriousness I think that’s just justifying a poorly implemented concept.

This headline had me thinking you were going to walk back your short sighted original review...but now it’s an accessory exclusively for going to the bar and not leaving your wallet behind...smh

Everyone is entitled to spend their money however they like, but I do not see the appeal of spending $60 for a magnetic wallet that barely holds 3 cards. To me, that's a tremendous waste of money.
To each of their own. I spent $120 on a Montblanc Westside 2cc, which is a wallet that holds only two cards, and nothing else. I love the minimalism.

I purchased an almost identical wallet from Amazon. Looks similar just no embossed Apple logo. Also cost only £16 instead of £60.

I've only had it a week but I can already see it's all I need 90% of the time. It holds my driving licence and credit card, everything else is in Apple Pay.

This magsafe wallet will require more attention and carefullness while day-to-day handling.

i want the technology to move in the direction where i use things less carefully. i want to just yank the cable out of my devices without minimising its life, make the phone more tough so that i dont need to handle it as new born child. get out of my car and get in the restaurant without coming out to check if i locked, closed and fortified everything etc etc.

I dont like tech that adds more maintainence, that requires more attention/steps than previous version. And it makes me sad quite a few of the new tech are doing that or going in the direction of increased attention.

Are PopSockets not fouffy enough for Apple customers?

Their wallet attaches securely, carries 3 cards, and with the additional purchase of some mounts and stands lets you have a secure spot for your device wherever you go. My fave is the handlebar mount. Even put one on my jet ski.

I also use those magnetic cables instead of magsafe. Since each device has its own insert, I only need one cable. Well, except for that damn watch.

I have the Apple silicon Magsafe case on my 12 Pro, and I use the Apple leather Magsafe wallet when I go on a walk or to the market to hold ID, insurance card, and maybe a credit card. I've owned it since it and the phone shipped.

I have really no qualms. I have not had problems with it falling off the phone/silicon case by accident, say when the phone is going in/out of pants pocket. Is everyone wearing super-skinny hipster jeans or something?

It does exactly what I was hoping it would do for me -- reduce my wallet to an almost-unnoticeable thing that's just part of my phone, which a significantly larger portion of my life is lived out of these days than an old-school "wallet."

I had one major problem with the (MagSafe) clear case, and it was one Apple acknowledged, but couldn’t fix so I got a refund. When you use an Apple Wallet with the MagSafe clear case on an iPhone12 it doesn’t make a ding and give a circle to say it has recognised the Wallet. With the (black) silicone case you get a satisfying ding and circle when you add the Wallet, and a ding when you remove the Wallet. All you get with the clear case is a ding when you remove it. You can’t be sure the phone has recognised it When you put it on. I tried many combinations at the local Apple Store and they told me it was obviously a problem and I was given a refund. They told me to write to Tim Cook, gave me his email, but I never heard back. I’m happy with my black silicone case and Wallet but thought someone should know.
