What needs to be made right though? They said oct 4-10 you are going to get it sep 23-26... even with UPS screwing up Apple shipped it so early that you are still going to get it early.... and you think they need to make somthing right.... seriously..

Yes UPS is incompetent and it sucks... but you will still get it early... the entitlement society drives me nuts sometimes.

Lol

Entitlement. For a product purchased.

I think you have a skewed version of "entitlement society". We've been charged and the communication from Apple was for Friday. Period.

Apple is delaying this somehow. No doubt about it. Maybe they found some issue with the phones they want to patch before they have the bulk of the orders delivered?

Who cares about their logo... They are telling you what UPS told them... they are relaying a message. so UPS made them look bad I'm sure Apple will get compensation from UPS for making them look bad. Apple is just as much a victim as we are... They went above their part to get you your phone before they promised... they are not the bad guy, they did nothing wrong...

I would never try to get Apple to give me any sort of compilation other gen refunding me for express shipping if I payed for it. I actually find it sickining that people find themselves justified in using UPS's incompetence as an excuse to get somthing free from Apple who did absolutely nothing wrong other then shipping your phone out EARLY..:

Sorry not buying it. You would be the only person who had their phone shipped via FedEx from Apple and like I said, the phone doesn't weigh 4 lbs. Jony would crap his pants if an iPhone weighed that much.
Agreed. It's not a
Email from Apple
show the part where it shows the shipping info and show the last 4 of tracking number with it matching what FedEx shows.

Good thing your opinion doesn't matter to me.

This is getting a bit out of hand. I understand completely how bad you guys feel and if I were in your position I would be pissed off as well. Most of the oct 4-10 people got shipped 1 day before me and their phones are still stuck in Korea while mine has made to California somehow. I am also encountering the mechanical failure excuse they been throwing out to all of you state side.

All I hope at this point is for our phone to make it to us tomorrow if not Monday (though it would suck to sit through another weekend).
Wtf???????

Thank you for sharing that. Everyone definitely skeptical as Apple has used UPS for everyone else. You are the first one that we've seen with FedEx that's confirmed.

I also find it interesting that it's originating from Cali... so they have US a stock that they are shipping now.

The logo on the message is pretty important from a perception perspective. They easily could have said UPS promises delivery by a certain date. It is now their brand reputation that is out there.

Why would UPS have to give Apple anything if there is nothing to be compensated for? That makes no sense you get compensated for breach of contract or damages resulting from it. If UPS didn't miss Apple's date they wouldn't have breach any contracts and would have no damages to pay for.

And we will file our complaints with Apple and see what happens.. nobody is entitled here. If you don't want to read about our frustrations or can't handle the complaining, it's really simple...don't follow this thread!

So why is UPS telling some like myself the delay is due to severe weather and others it is a mechanical failure. Seems like they should get the story straight. Something is not making sense in this whole thing.

Just for grins, here is the delivery pattern of my wife's phone that made it on release day.

Sorry if it's in the incorrect order. I'm new to the sub.

So Best Buy gave out 100 dollar gift cards for missed pre orders, kind of crappy Apple doesn't do the same.

On another note, kind of irritated that my card has been charged and I still yet to have a phone in my hand.

I dont see a point in this argument. Your "promised" ship date was 11-4 to 11-10. so be happy you are getting it earlier. This is not apples fault. Its UPS fault.

There are two contract... the contract that Apple made with the customer when they purchased the phone... (oct 4-10), and the contract that UPS made with Apple to ship the product (sep 22-24). While Apple gave out miss information as a result of miss information being given to them... they did not break the original contract of sale... so they have done nothing wrong.

UPS on the other hand is likely to break their contract of sale with Apple (as a shipping agent) witch would entitle apple to compensation... in addition to that they are the source of the miss information that Apple is giving out... Apple is going to take a hit for UPS... Apple is a huge customer for UPS... they could easily ask for compensation for their mistake or else go with fedex next time.... Apple has done nothing wrong other then relay broken information from UPS... and that isn't even anything that you can realistically blame Apple for.

This isn't an apples to apples comparison but it's not Samsung's fault that one of their battery suppliers had an issue that led to some of their phones exploding but they are the one's dealing with it. It is the same for Apple here, just as it would be the same for any other company.

I think is what you asked for. I'll check back on Monday to see if I get it or if there is problems like everyone else's.

Except for this is by no means apples fault. Once its in UPS hand its out of apples control. Plain and simple.

Actually I have frustration as well.... and I support anyone who has frustrations with UPS because they are giving out new excuses every hour and don't seem to have any system in place where they know what the hell is going on... but blaming Apple and using a UPS screw up to get free **** from them... that's not an honest thing to do and not cool in my book.
