My problem is that all of my favorites have been either removed or replaced. No longer are there sleek and beautiful pure black iPhones available for purchase. No longer are there sophisticated all white iPhones available for purchase. It's a head scratcher that pink and gold and grey phones are offered but not your typical black or white. Bold move on Apple's part. Adding pink to a traditionally monotone color theme for products doesn't make sense to me.

If you're going to offer pink, why not offer colors like blue? Or green? Or red? Black/white/aluminum/grey makes sense, thematically.

I swear, Apple could offer a chrome iPhone next year and people would think it's cool. Would you buy a rose gold Macbook? :):p Probably in an attempt to prove me wrong, but you can't pretend like you don't have at least somewhat of an understanding of what I'm saying here.

The gold finishes are popular in China. They aren't really targeted at the U.S./Canada/Euro market.

It's kind of upsetting to see a new message in the inbox expecting an engaging response, only to be met with such a low quality post.

Oh well, we don't always get what we want.

I do welcome constructive, thoughtful responses, though.

That sounds upsetting...and disappointing...allow me to cheer you up with a comic:

...speaking of disappointing, I'm disappointed that you didn't use the word "tacky" in your latest quip.

I'm also disappointed that this year's iPhone iteration comes in bismuth pink, but no darker version of slate grey. Major bummer, dood.

Okay, so you'd be content if Apple no longer offered their aluminum Macbooks? What if they discontinued that, but now offer space gray, gold, and rose gold Macbook Pros? You would be okay with this? Why? Is it because you'll just buy whatever Apple throws at you?

Products need thematic integrity. Lack of plain black/white phone options is unsettling at best. While I'm not going to throw a temper tantrum about it, I'm still going to be vocal about it, call it out, and question it.

Sounds like you are indeed throwing a tantrum.

And for the record, I would be okay with it, and this is coming from someone who still owns and runs his Apple IIe.

If you want to talk about integrity, let's talk about integrity. If Apple's longstanding credo is how long their products last, look at how long the IIe is still running. Look at how long System Software 7.5.x is still running. Look at how long Snow Leopard is still running. Look at how long the 4S is going to be around: released 4 years ago, and still running what will be the latest OS in a week's time. My wife's 2008 MBP is still running, and we're coming up on 8 years with that.

Being able to stand by your products, no matter how long they last, no matter how many people say "that's old, They don't last, Steve would never have allowed that"... that's integrity. Complaining about not having your favorite color available isn't 'thematic integrity', let alone integrity at all; It's actually very shallow.

BL.

To the rose gold doubters: if you thought it was copper, you're wrong! there (I only post this because I think it's funny some people bought a pink phone out of mass hysteria about the exclusivity factor, spinning the color to be something that it clearly isn't... only to get irked by the phone being pink after all).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not throwing a temper tantrum, you're just an incredibly (and almost suspiciously) defensive person who can't handle a variety of opinions. Newsflash, not everyone is going to be satisfied with everything Apple releases -- who are you to say who or who shouldn't voice that dissatisfaction? That's right, you're no one to! If anything, Apple would prefer feedback on their products.

Releasing a pink phone isn't thematic integrity, whether you'd like to admit it or not. Neither is releasing a gold phone in product lines with traditionally monotone color schemes. It's very simple. I'm willing to bet that even Ive himself was against the call to release gold and rose gold products -- otherwise it most certainly would have already happened by now. Along with things like large, clunky phones such as the 6+ and the 6S+. However, Apple caved under the cultural demand of their 2nd largest iPhone market - China. Including gold in the color lineup was a purely financially driven decision, not a design one. I'm sure you're aware of how gold - or any variant of it is considered good luck in China. This is the entire driving force behind the sudden integration of gold in the products.

Do not clutter the conversation with rantings and ravings about durability in past Apple products. I never disputed that, and it should have never been brought up. If anything, I can attest to it considering I still use an iPod I bought in 2008. I still use an iPhone I bought in 2012. This discussion was and should remained focused on thematic consistency in the phones. If you consider that "shallow" maybe you shouldn't be posting in a thread titled "Rose Gold doubters", quite frankly.

All I know is I would not want a new iPhone in the color in any of those images. Might be pretty to some but being in the business world it would never be good for me in the board room.

I think if you are on the board of Apple, Vanity Fair, Hermes, etc... it more then okay!

Can anyone please verify if all the live wallpapers of those tropical fishes are available for all phone colors instead of the pairings we see in the ads?

Rose iPhone = Orange fish
Gold iPhone = Yellow and blue fish
Silver iPhone = Blue fish
Gray iPhone = Red and blue fish

Bieber grew up. Now, if you have a phone case designed like Calvin Klein underwear, maybe that'll make your phone a Bieber phone.
You're being too liberal with the term "grew up." puberty =/= grown up

Maybe if the phone were airbrushed and padded in places to make itself look bigger than it is.

I am going for the Rose Gold model, and yes: I'm a guy. My sister called me gay because of my color choice (ironically I actuall am gay, haha). Was obviously meant as a joke. But still, I think people are defining others too much by the color of their choice. The days where boys had to like blue and girls had to like pink are over for a long time now.

I want Rose Gold, because I like the color in general. Space Gray on the iPhone 6(s) doesn't look as beautiful as with iPhone 5s. Never liked silver at all and the gold model looks a little too much 'blingy' to me. So Rose Gold it is. :)

By the way, Rose Gold is not pink. Many people think it is, but it's obviously not. Rose Gold is more of a copper color. Maybe on the images it looks a bit more pink than actual Rose Gold. But I've seen the photos that were made during the demo after the keynote. And you could clearly see the difference.

Well, the docks are in the store and they are what I would call dusty rose. Far, far from copper. I was hoping for a rosy copper but I don't mind this. 9 times out of 10, though, if you ask a 5 year old what color this is, they are going to say pink.

Same here! I told her I was thinking of getting it, in which she told me I'd look like a girl with it lol. Of all people I find it ironic she's the one to judge me having been the first person I told about being gay... I am hoping it's not as pink as everyone says. I went into the Apple Store and the rose gold sport watch looked copper to me!

I don't think I'd want to do business with people who make snap judgements based on the color of one's phone.

Then you're not a good business man. :D

Image sells. The way you present yourself, the clothes you wear, the devices you use, all of this is gonna be judged. That's what i've learn in 15 years of dealing with boardrooms and clients.
I use a Thinkpad, a SurfacePro, a Blackberry Passport and wear GrandSeiko watches. But in an important meeting i'll have a space grey iPhone, Macbook/iPad and will wear a well known swiss brand on my wrist (like Omega or Rolex).
It's all about the money. In the end, i want their money, not their friendship. :)

I don't see pink in this "rose gold"

Oh but it IS very pink. Almost mauve, actually. I opened it last night and I'm not really a fan. If the phone is this color It's gonna have to grow on me or I'm going have to exchange it.

In real life. Not on this phone. Unfortunately.

You'd be correct as I'm a good business woman. And I do pretty well in my business. We call people who still think this way "out of touch." But if you think that way and your associates think that way, probably best if you guys stay in that boardroom together and let the rest of us just get on with our other business.

You're right in that it's all about how you present yourself. And presenting yourself as someone who judges business acumen based on phone color is again, a pretty big signal to me that it's not someone I want to work with as it's an indicator of things to come. It's a sign to me that you're afraid to take risks. It's a sign that you don't see below the surface of what's presented, easily duped and lack of vision. It's a sign that your judgement is clouded with preconceived notions, you don't think for yourself. Most of all, it's a sign that you're a follower, not a leader. At least, that's the image I'm seeing from the head of the table.

Next candidate, please.

Tim Cook was on The Late Show last night and Stephen Colbert had a Rose Gold phone. If you've the CBS app you can probably see it in better resolution but here's what I found on youtube:
