I can't see any technical reason to doubt this. Although the iPad mini 4 does have 2GB of RAM and an A8 CPU so not sure why they would drop it.

The A9 is much more advanced and also faster.

A7 and A8 were basically the same chip.

Not fun at all, sounds like checking web page source to see what's new. Can be updated at any moment.
Don't get the issue, but I am not into reading what's new anyway, as long as my device is working correctly, most changelogs even on Apple are... fixed bugs... (or as Nintendo says improved stability) so unless you are a techie and search for a complete log (which you can find on android anyway)...

I like the way you do not need a complete system update to update a browser, or a mail client, or even a security patch ...unlike Apple.

I guess there are pros and cons to both approaches.

Whatever, 13 is unusable mess on my ip7, **** it, first time ever i will try android phone
Interesting.

My 6s runs iOS 13 great (battery is in good condition so no throttling) and 7 is way faster.

Could you post a video demonstrating this “unusable mess on iPhone 7” to YouTube?

(...no, you can’t, because you don’t even have an iPhone)

The refreshed SE with larger capacities were released in March 2017. If Apple wants to maintain the 5-year tradition (which is by no means guaranteed) the SE would have to get even iOS 15 in 2021. I have my doubts that this will happen, but I would certainly appreciate it.

lol... due to low memory - regular refresh of web pages in safari, inability of mail app to send email with bigger/more attachments (message get killed while adding attachments), crasheh of apps... like people, do you really use your iphones? and come on, do you really believe that everyone having problem with this ios 13 mess is android agent? would bet I have longer history with apple than many of these new apple zealots...

I am not saying you are one of them, but we are used to getting comments like this one even from the people who have never used an iOS device :)
actually I have never used anandroid device, will see, hope it cant be worse than ios13 (and I get it, i do have ip7, 4 years old design and tech, BUT if they cant make ios13 working properly on older device, just dont release 13 for it...)

Since the 4” iPhone line is all but guaranteed to never be refreshed again, it makes sense to continue supporting the SE for as long as the hardware allows. Thankfully the A9+ 2 GB of RAM aren’t even close to being pushed to the limit yet by anything other than AR apps which aren’t essential.

What’s essential to Apple is services, and by this move they will ensure that small form factor fans will continue subscription money flowing.

I would also bet that iOS 14 will be stability focused, like iOS 12, with few new features. A much better place to leave the numerous A9 devices at than iOS 13 in its current state.

Why not keep the name iOS 13 and add another number to the decimal like 13.5

What will be more predictable is apps will have to reload even more times while in the background and mail and other app problems will be carried over to iOS 14.

That's the thing, so many older iPhones and iPads where lag is still rare/doesn't happen. I love it! I had 6 Android phones and 2 Android tablets. I know about lag.

More and more people look to Sept as another exciting time in their lives.

For no good reason. It's so perfected it's becoming an appliance. The only reason I'm offloading my XS in October is it's too cumbersome. But that's it. For me, there is zero reason to get an 11/Pro. My SE works beautifully, apart from the screen size and screen quality.

That has absolutely not been my experience with iOS 13 on my iPhone 7 and I dont even have a new battery. Have you tried a DFU reset? Is your battery degraded? Honestly brother, if you can’t make an accurate diagnosis of an iPhone and it’s issue, Andriod is not the path to go. They are far less user friendly (Minus the Google phones).

That is not true, and will never be true. Look up BBEdit (Mac) or 1Password (iOS), they both have excellent release notes. It's the communication channel between users and developer and it contains information about new features and ways app can be used. Besides if you care about your device working correctly, you should read release notes just for bug fixes alone. You might even didn't know there's a problem.

You like it because? Does it improve software quality? Websites can be updated at any moment, and somehow average native app quality is much higher than a website quality. Not even considering that apps can do so much more. What I think it does, is allows developers to be lazy.

Why not add all 64 bit devices again to iOS 14 like my A7 iPhone 5S. Just release an iOS 14 lite version for older devices.
What about Home, Basic, Pro, and Ultimate?

So 2020 will be 'Hardware" year? That means they dont need iOS to phase out older model to push hardware sales, because they knew the hardware this year is good enough in itself.

iOS 15 phasing out bunch or models so you have to upgrade.

Or how about just call this year iOS 13.5 and use the 12 months to tidy up some of the mess we have in the back end.
