It won't make a difference. Nobody is going to run out and buy Windows 7 except geeks. The problem has always been for Windows that their user base which they have a monopoly with, either don't care about upgrades or don't want to take the chance of screwing up their computer on an upgrade.

It is the one big difference between Apple and MS. Since most essentially make a conscious choice to buy a Mac, they are probably more technologically aware and want the newest thing.

And while I have heard some glowing reviews, I also hear people like Jim Louderback on TWIT saying he had to remove Windows 7 from most of his computers and was not especially a fan of it. Louderback is one of the biggest Windows fans I've ever met.
I'm one of those geeks that told people to wait for Windows 7 before buying a new machine. I get to take some coworkers computer shopping soon. :D

Hello.

Clean or not, the Mightier Mouse is almost certain to lose its ball. It's just too much fuss about the dirt.

I like the MM just fine the way it is (clean-finger mousing helps) though it's gonna be interesting to see what they come up with to replace that neat little clicky ball thing.

It's a pretty good bet that it's not going to be a scroll wheel of any type.
Maybe a virtual ball?
The above-mentioned self-cleaning one?
A teenie tiny joystick? You know, like a Trackpoint?
A finger-sized indentation like a bowling ball?
An eye-movement tracking iSight?
A headband brainwave sensor?
Brain implants?

Tomorrow or not, there will be a Mightier Mouse.

But will it be the Mightiest Mouse?

Nah, probably not. ;)

Have Fun,
Keri

No Austin Powers-esque Double or Triple Entendre intended, OK?
Well, maybe a little one.

I wonder if they might pull something new. Maybe they release a boat load of new Apple hardware on the website and THEN send the invites out at the end of the week to go over them.

Sort of a pre-emptive strike as some have suggested.

that doesn't really sound like Apple's style, but that'd be really cool.

They can't do "but there's one more thing" if the "thing" is already out.

I think the hardware updates do not warrant a media event. I think the mouse update (since it's brand new) does. I'd be surprised to see the new mouse tomorrow.

I'm dubious of any update tomorrow. But if there is an update I can assure we will see one thing: the angry hisses of dissatisfied MacRumors readers. Haha keep it chill guys, we're all here for fun! :D

See thats the thing that I disagree with. If they are releasing new hardware, why not bring the new peripherals out with them?

Fair enough and you proved my point: Generally, Windows users don't upgrade. They get new hardware which is why they're struggling now. They built an OS in XP that is "good enough".

I'm just hoping for a new Mighty Mouse. Mine's about to die and the new one sounds insane.

Hoping everything else gets a nice healthy bump to **** on Microsoft's parade this week. ;) :apple:

Agreed.

Mighty Mouse - track ball = happy apple consumer!! (pun intended! lol)

i've had my 1st MM for about a year and (surprisingly) the ball still rolls (somewhat. It may get stuck or it slips sometimes but the screen still scrolls)

after reading several reviews about the mouse, people's MM have officially stopped working after several months so I guess im one of the lucky ones?

i'd love to see the Radio App for iPod Touch tomorrow ( has late 2009 iPod Touch)

Doesn't anyone freekin' care about the Mac mini? It needs a serious upgrade. Honestly the Mac mini has not been a decent contender since inception. It needs at least a 2.53 to 3.06Ghz processor with up to 8GB ram and GPU at least as good as the current top of the line iMac. Also a 1TB hard drive with an option for an SSD would be sweet. I'd like to see these options with the top Mac mini being at $599. :)

Well, I'm going to bed excitedly waiting to refresh macrumors/apple canada education store when i get out of bed in the morning. Here goes sleeping with crossed fingers! *iMac large spec boost please!*

Well if Mr. Mighty Mouse's ball gets castrated by Apple, then he wouldn't be so mighty any longer :(

A quad core SFF with monitor isn't much more than a mini by itself.
