@Flavioparentiq, you might be right

Hmm... tablet delayed after chrome os came out? [snip] ... but my guess is that the "tablet" will be a 100% internet compliant hardware with an online os. [snip] ... The goal is to create a different way of using internet...

I hate the sound of this, but I think that you might be right. It's the only opinion I've heard that actually is unique and is more than a glorified iTouch or a keyboardless netbook. I hate the sound of it because I live and work a long way away from the US in countries where wifi and internet are rare and slow (I pay more than $150 a month for 1 Mbps internet and it often doesn't work). Sure, we have 3G here but it's hit and miss and only in big cities.

The whole concept of online apps (remember, that's how the iPhone started!) is great if you have the online access to use them. For the vast majority of the world we're just not there yet.

So, I hope that you're wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if you are right.

No flames from me, but given how Apple gutted iMovie 08 to get more people to spend $200 for FCE, I do wonder why you're eager to be bitch-slapped by iLife again.

It took a few minutes to get used to, but I find iMovie 09 to be superior than iMovie HD.

Apple is supposed to be simple.

Dude. Have one app that imports everything, exports everything, runs on everything, has 3 different interfaces, and charges you a 3 tier license fee, if you need the money so desperately.

Have the handtop variant delete the stuff you don't need.

Rocketman

iMovie '08 and HD are both previous versions of iMovie, not parallel supported platforms. Apple did release iMovie HD for free to anyone with iLife after the uproar from the drastic changes made in '08, so that makes things appear a little more confusing.

I know, everything is going toward full internet connections and consumers experience. Stuff made for 4% of the world, with 90% of the welfare.. but that would be a bigger discussion, wouldn't it be?

He is.... wrong! Cloud computing is a ways off.

I don't see what's lacking in 10.5 Leopard either besides the all mighty dollar of course.
10.5 lacks things like GCD, OpenCL and significant enhancements to QTKit, all of which would be useful for (at least some of) the iLife apps. See this document for an overview of the changes in 10.6. Click through to some the API delta documents if you really want to get a sense of the depth and scope of the release. My point is that there are plenty of legitimate, technical reasons to move everyone to SL as soon as possible.

Or, it could just be an evil ploy to steal people's money. Who can say for sure.

3 of those are the same app (iMovie) and 2 of them are "tiers" of a different app. I'm missing how that's complicated.

So it's simple, like the tiered versions of Windows?

Yea but with iMovie theres a reason for the different teirs.

I mean, without listing some pointless POS list, what the difference between Ultimate and Home Premium? How can you tell the difference. What is there to entice you. Some pointless shiny animated desktop?

I could roll off the differences that I know off hand. :p

Also Windows 7 is the current version.

There are only 3 versions of Windows 7 you can buy (I realize that choices are too complicated for Mac Users to comprehend) and only 1 version Mac Users would be need to use, Home Premium, because stuff like networking and encryption is too much for their noggins.

Got some data that says I don't know about encryption or networking? Thankfully all versions of osx (read 1 version) come with all tools necessary for both, unlike Windows.
