No issues with the feature change but sad if it bugs for ppl, dont use safari that much so havent seen any bugs as of yet.

While TurboTax is generally garbage to begin with, some of us have unfortunately had to use it in the past. It's another site that won't load in Safari 15 (as of a couple of days ago). Frustratingly, it suggests using Safari instead.

But according MR users, this has been their daily browser since dinosaur age. What's up with the weird spacing in compact view?

When opening the bookmarks sidebar, the animation lags in misery, tabs & pinned tabs will re-order out of sync, first not pinned, then pinned ones, feels like an amateur electron app.

Also, website titles sometimes do not display leaving only the favicon (on regular tabs, not pinned). They've also removed the possibility to hide favicons. Another Apple masterpiece.

Safari 15 is definitely an improvement over previous versions with few exceptions (which don't affect me) and the speed is much better. But the new tab bar has to go. Instead of the live tab being highlighted, it's darkened. That's the opposite of what I'm used to. I keep clicking on the wrong tab and have accidentally closed tabs that I needed and had to go back and fish them out of history. I just can't get used to or work with the darkened "live" tabs.

I totally get what he’s saying about the tabs. And that color changing part is awful. Fortunately that can be turned off.

I have the latest beta of Monterey, and the YouTube crash isn't happening here (crossing fingers). However, Safari is slow, slow, slow (seems to be related to the new privacy features that disguise my IP address). I have to use Firefox if I need to get to a web site quickly.

What is Federighi and his team doing? Eight betas of iOS 15 and its full of bugs, a buggy browser update, I mean come on. He's either grossly incompetent as a leader or is too nice and needs to really enforce some discipline at Apple and the software team, and go out and find some better talent. There was a day when you used Apple because it "just worked." Now we just hope it works.
I don’t understand why Apple switched to annual MacOS releases. It’s form over function basically.

But the good news is that they delivered according to their their Marketing schedule. Hit the marketing blitz well before the Christmas buying season started. Got the pipeline primed. It's all good according to Timmy.

That company really needs its next incarnation of a Steve Jobs, someone so perfectionist and meticulous, not to mention impulsive, that would fire someone over something a lot less critical.

I’m not saying it is healthy or sane for their employees or that it’s all beneficial for the company at large in general but you know what? In these last months of releases? I don’t think they would dare to release things in that state.

I like the new safari tabs, but creating a new tab feels slow compared to chrome.

Still won't use safari, because of developer tools which are terrible to use.

One day a lot more people will get tired of all this and start looking elsewhere.
Yep, I remember when UI and usability was a studied subject. I remember when Apple was the leader in usability. But it looks like now they have hired too many Microsoft folks. Now it is just keep up with the Jones', throw some different stuff in and see if people will accept it, or change things just to be different, but not necessarily better.

Safari 15 has totally broken Xfinity streaming on the Mac. (Firefox will still work, however.)

Permanent fix that worked for me: Stop using Safari.

In all seriousness, I switched to Brave a year or so and haven’t really looked back.

No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved! You know, for a little bit? I feel like the maid; I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for... for ten minutes!

I have never shifted from a Browser that works well for me, Firefox. And after seeing the mosh pit that is Safari 15, it just reinforces my decision to not even give Safari a try.
