Resolution Independence!

Resolution Independence!! zooming with (Command +) is rendering pages using Resolution Independence - zooming in maintains integrity and sharpness of fonts. This is amazingly fast, BTW - beyond snappy!!

I would also like to see a 'Top Sites' button in the main toolbar, next to the home button. I've never been a fan of the bookmarks bar and always had it hidden, but now I need to show it just for this one (very cool) button.

Vote 1 for restoring the blue progress bar. Terrible decision removing it.

And I like the tabs on top.

Definitely feels faster than Firefox 3.x. However, I've gotten way too used to extensions (especially Zotero, Foxmarks and Adblock Plus) to switch back to Safari.

I really like the Top Sites feature, and in general prefer the workflow of Safari to Firefox, but the main thing that's keeping me from switching is Adblock. Looking around, there seem to be several alternatives (Safari Adblock, Glimmerblocker, Pithhelmet) but none of these seem to be available for Windows. If anyone knows of an Adblock alternative working with Safari 4 on Windows (specifically XP 32 and Win7 64) it'd be much appreciated.

Also, perhaps I'm overlooking something obvious, but how do you put Safari in fullscreen mode (ala F11 in Firefox)?

Tab position choice

After trying the new tab position for two days I was ready to go back to version 3. Now the tabs are back where they are supposed to be for me. I have only high resolution monitors, on my 30" the Safari window does not even reach down to the dock. I have no need for the extra space I get through the tabs on top. So make this option easily accessible in the Preferences, give us the choice.

Can we change this?

I'm a huge Mac fan and I hate Windows, but honestly, one part of Safari for Vista is better than for Mac OS. Specifically, the location of the + button (new tab) in relation to the traffic lights. On Vista, the 3 buttons are in a small slot with the + tab button behind the rest of the bar, but on Mac, the 3 traffic lights are a part of the first tab. Can we put the + button on the Mac over on the left next to the traffic lights and seperate that from the first tab? In other words, make it like it is in Vista (I can't believe I'm saying that  ) but put it on the other side? That would make much more sense to me.

Tabs

Every time I click a link, it opens a new window. I know I can ctl-click to have a link open in a new tab, but I'd like to just be able to click a link and have it open in a new tab. Can this be done?

Thx,
Steve

It seems much easier to create a new tab and navigate to the new site simultaneously by holding the command key down while clicking, or while pressing the return key - two birds with one stone, this way.

Sure can! Use the command key while clicking the link - this will open that link in a new tab.

Other than the fact that you cannot use https with Google Apps for Your Domain, I had another problem when writing a WordPress blog. When you go to add an image, the dialog layer comes up, but then the page is unusable. You must refresh the screen to do anything, and, alas, no image upload.

I like Safari 4 (beta) and I like the new features. I'll sit this one out until it is out of beta. I'm sure Apple will make Safari 4 rock by the time it is out of beta. Reverting back for now...

I'm having problems saving webpages to idisk. Is any one else having this problem?

I got it installed on my faster computer, holy ball bearings! Faster than two squirrels on ice! Loving it :D

Nope, I hope Apple keeps them at the top and there's no way to change them on the final version. Having the tabs at the bottom of the address bar took up browsing space, I'm very happy to have them at the top.

Agree with HLdan, the space at the very top was wasted space, and having tabs at the bottom took up browsing space, this is most significant if you're using a 13" screen to browse the web.

It took me a little while to get used to them because it was different from the other browsers, but now i find them easier to identify at the very top.

I love the zoom feature. Allows me to not have the browser window full screen. I wish there was anything like this for the whole os that worked right

I uninstalled it went back to 3.

Tabs on top, no way

General browsing felt slower than 3 for some reason

etrade website had issues with it.
