What extensions do you "need"? I have Ad Block and FlashBlock on Safari. Are you not looking hard enough?

-Aaron-

I agree what else do you need? I hope Safariblock works with 5!

Web Apps

I hope they finally bring back web apps.

so one could save a web site to his/her dock, applications folder (OSX) or desktop, start menu, & applications folder (windows)
this was in one of the 4betas but got cut.

hey guys

it doesn't matter whether its ctrl or cmd it shows that most of use it so the zoom remember function would be a welcome addition to safari5

wow OS 10.6.4 what a huge update. i'm sure that'll capture the headline

i dont even see any difference from 10.6.1 to 10.6.3

Safari already uses SL-only technologies. They are just disabled in the PPC version (like the sandboxed plugins.)

I think the chances of an intel-only Safari is as likely as an intel and Windows 7-only version of iTunes.
OK, thanks for the education: I will revise my estimate.

I hereby drop the chance of Safari 5 shipping on PPC from 0.3% to 0.001%.

:)

Full Screen Browsing on Mac

Maybe this is a Mac question and not a Safari question. I mostly use Windows but since I have an iPhone and iPad I am trying to get use to a Mac (got a mini to play with). My biggest complaint so far is not being able to go full screen (or max screen). On Windows I just double click the top bar and my Windows use maximun screen area (any window including the browser like Safari). Am I missing something or is this just not posible on the Mac? On a Mac are all Windows manually sized and you can't just say use all available space (but not overlaying the bottom line).

Think about what you're asking for, for one second.

"I want my web browser to fill my ENTIRE FREAKING SCREEN, even though the actual web-page is less than half that. I enjoy white bars on either side of my web content, and not sharing screen space with more than a single application"

Apple is smart. They don't maximize a window, that's idiotic. They just make the window as big as it needs to be.

What the hell does this mean?

Hardware acceleration for Windows

Harware acceleration for windows or Hardware acceleration for Windows? Two different things. One speeds up display speed, and the other is biased towards microsoft.

 Well, we'll see who is right soon enough. :p Apple wants to push HTML5 hard. They need to push it on as many computers as possible, and that includes XP and PPC.

Your screen zooms when you hold command and scroll, and you claim you've never changed that setting? Something you said isn't fact.

Yeah, I guess I must've been messing with the mouse settings one day and inadvertently changed it.

For Windows, the OS. Mac OS X already has Quartz GPU acceleration for its UI. I think Windows 7 does as well, and Apple is finally providing support for it.

There's nothing idiotic about one window taking up an entire screen. Some things are just personal preferences. Personally, I don't like having maximized windows, but sometimes I do to keep myself from getting distracted.

It would be nice to have the option, but I don't see Apple doing it. If you want a full screen browser there are alternative browsers one can use.

Good news :], probably true that it'll be available on WWDC, cuz the 10.4.6 is leaked for torrent download..
