Unfortunately, none even come close to rendering web pages as fast as Safari, on my devices at least. A content blocker makes a huge difference.
On OS X, this isn't as noticeable (for the most part), but Safari is still the fastest browser. It's a shame that's all it is - fast.
Maybe Apple should allow content blocking for other browsers too
A lot of ads are starting to get through with minimal and the other untrusted hosts blocker. The NBC News app is one example. Every video I've tried to watch this week delivers an ad at the beginning. On my Rooted Samsung Note 4 and Note Edge, Adaway is still successfully blocking ads in every app I use.Never gonna happen. They want people on Safari, and content blockers give it value.
If you want content blocking systemwide, jailbreak and get Minimal Hosts Blocker.
It's also affecting all Italian users I know.I wonder if this is a US only thing? In the UK i'm having no issues at all? UK nodes working ok maybe?
How did this bypass their QA department?
This is not from an update your end. This problem is back at Apple servers. This was driving me nuts all day - I hadn't realised I had performed an update - and if not, then how does this happen?
Safari isn't a good browser. It's fast, but apart from that any other one kicks its ass - extensions, privacy settings, customization. Firefox is the undisputed leader in all those categories.
I only use it on my iOS devices because it's faster than any browser out there, FF for iOS is subpar and Chrome has a horrible UI. This bug should have never passed QA and it's mind-boggling to think Apple have not discovered this in many years (Safari suggestions are not new).
It just works...
