I thought the iPhone 11 Pro would do this by now. Just an extra reason to hold out another year. I would love to have OLED now but since I would be buying a high capacity Pro I’m not spending $1300 ish when next year we will most likely get 5G and a brand new chassis.

Fall in love with all our bloat wear and your OS is at least a year behind, but we already had dark mode ;)
What bloatware? No notch! Better looking. Better hardware less the A13 Bionic. I used to love Apple, but the latest releases are sad all the way around. If I could run iOS on my Note 10+, that would be the ultimate iPhone.

I really wonder why Apple didn't add Apple Pencil support... doesn't hurt nobody not using it, and could have made a couple of hundred millions $ from selling pencils. Now ProCreate Pocket customers need to resort to Wacom and Adonit :(

I would have upgraded for this

I'm a Samsung and Apple user. My first love was Apple for many years, then I started to use Android and I really like it and this was in the early stages of it. I will always use both and both has its flaws. But Apple do need to innovate some ideas. I will take my Note 10 Plus over the iPhone 11 Pro Max and see what the 2020 iPhone will be.

Why do they brag about a very bad implemented feature? Just look at iJustine´s review...

I didn't even know if it was working or not, I just assumed it would suck.

The S10 was the first Samsung to get decent bokeh in fotos, so now they can do that in real time on videos without messed up edges, hair etc? Just didn't seem right to me.

This feature sure works great when real people use it!!!!
Video @ 7:37

WTF? I didn't expect it to be THAT bad.

Never switching to a Samsung, but it's a legit criticism. Apple's bokeh is crap. It has none of the magic of real optical bokeh because it doesn't shape and emphasize highlights. Really surprised Apple hasn't done a better job on this front, clearly any recent iPhone has more than enough horsepower to perform such smart image manipulation in real time.

It's a fundamental effect in photography and videography. So far Apple managed to implement the same effect only for still photos (portrait mode). They are rumored to add ToF sensor to iPhones next year, so you'll probably get this cheesy effect next year.
Next year I’ll be using my shiny new Linux-based Librem 5 phone.

It’s actually pretty cool. but until Apple adds it.. you don’t need it. Right? Rolling eyes over here.

Really? This is pretty cool to you? :D

I don’t know, but for me it looks ridiculous.

And losing split screen and real multitasking?

Love the bloatwear response in 2019. That's like an Android user still using the argument, "iOS doesn't allow MMS or copy and paste".

A problem resolved years ago. When things change it doesn't make sense to use old talking points.

BTW, If getting an incremental software update immediately upon release is the most important thing to an android user they could purchase a Pixel.

What's worse is a snarky comment about being a year behind. Apple was defined as the most innovative company out there. Now they're very conservative and usually copy Android innovation or hold back so they have something new for the following years upgrade. Apple has become more well known for its great marketing that it's an innovative company than for it's innovation itself.

I miss Steve Jobs.

I know it’s your opinion:
  • Apple still is considered the mist innovated company out there
  • They take features, which android has already copied, and innovate and improve on them... like Touch ID and Face ID
  • IMO, Apple holds back on features that would be released that don’t meet their expectations.

Can’t remove the Galaxy Store and some other Samsung copies of Googles apps. Carriers still shove their garbage on the phones although more of that can be disabled now which is nice. Although more android makers are moving towards cleaner builds so it’s mostly a Samsung and Chinese issue now.

that bokeh is terrible, supposed to be an outdoor picture suddenly looks like it is xmas with all that bokeh balls floating. Surely taste is not included in the deal!

I guess you only seen bokeh photos? Lol. Pay attention to some

Ok, That looks hideous. However that’s the biggest issue with people and their “I need to get the latest iPhone for the camera”. If you don’t know how to take a good picture w a camera, it doesn’t matter how good the camera is, the picture is going to suck. This example proves my point. There are many different ways to utilize this feature. This isn’t one of them.

Don’t know why Samsung resorts to poking fun at Apple. That’s a sign of little faith in their own product. It’s childish and predictable. The product should sell itself if it’s really that good, and sooo much better than an iPhone.

True. The issue of bloatwear occurred back when phone storage was much less and you didn't want space used on apps you didn't want. Nowadays space isn't a problem and the Galaxy devices are coming with only a few preinstalled apps, all of which can be disabled and no longer visable.

On the flip side, on my 64GB iPhone XS Max I can't delete the Health app, Find My, Wallet, Feedback, and a couple others, none of which I use. Instead I need to put them in a folder in order to hide them. I wish I could delete those because storage is at a premium and I can expand like Android.
