now come on max, You dont need to resort to fanboy trolling, you're usually better than that!

It's really unfortunate that as soon as you say one thing that ''defends'' Samsung, you're automatically labeled as an Apple-hating-Shamesung-fandroid.

----------

Apple can mock Samsung all they like considering all the apparent copying samsung has done to Apple and HTC and all the others...look it up. samsung have been in Court that many times with most if not all tech firms over the years i am surprised they are not on first name terms with the Judges

All tech companies go to court for infringement reasons. Apple, Motorola, Microsoft all are accused of infringement just as often.

Nope, Android discouraged the use of SD cards since Android 4.0

Removable battery makes the phone thicker. Samsung added wireless charging and fast charging to compensate.

It's amusing to read your posts in full defensive mode :D
Just a few days ago, Android supporters tried to convince me that Google remedied that "error" in lollipop, giving SD cards a proper support again....
Today it doesn't count anymore, right ?

You mean like how Samsung has a good and I mean GOOD track record of copying every and I mean virtually EVERY Firm's ideas and then getting sued and counter sue for every and a day

Correct if I'm wrong, but we haven't seen a single lawsuit against Samsung in 2015.

So saying they get sued everyday is more than just an exageration.

Did I even mention my appreciation for Android at any point? You seem to see only what you want to see. I am a very happy Apple user, Android-free since December 2013.

I am surprised that Samsung didn't include the reversible USB connector port. This phone launch would have been a good place to showcase the connector. After a closer look the HTC M9 didn't include it as well.

It's way too new, people would be pissed not being able to use their other microusb cables, just as iPhone users were when Apple replaced their charging port to Lightning.

----------

like okay this phone was released last year under a different brand, this is just more copies made under a different brand :D

And what phone is that?

More copying and gimmicks, sigh. But, at least it doesn't feel as plasticky and cheap, I'll give them that. It will be interesting to see how the public reacts to the change to non-removable batteries and no SD cards.

The LoopPay thing will work great for the very short term, the next 6 months or so. Then everybody will be getting chipped cards later this year, and then it will be NFC vs. NFC, the magnetic stripe thing won't be nearly as useful by the end of year. The important thing to look at here is whether their NFC implementation will match Apple's, because that's what they will need going forward. It looked like in the video that the guy was putting half his finger on the screen and half on the button, so I'm still unclear on how their fingerprint thing works. But yes I'm sure Samsung is proud of their newest gimmick of being able to pay everywhere for the next 6 months, lol.

This whole thread is definitely hurting my sides from all the laughing.

All this insecurity. All this screaming over Samsung copying.

Especially after the iPhone 6+.

You sir are the epitome of insecurity. you people were the same ones mocking apple over the square with round.corners design patent. And now you say wow is a copy cat because they increased the screen size. Lol. Hypocrites much?

thi was a myth that was taken out of context by a bad quote

everyone was so quick to jump on the misquote that the story generated a life of it's own allvoer the internet before samsung was forced to clarify their statement

The TV's do NOT by default record / translate text and send it. For MOST models of Samsung TV's, you must press a button on the remote BEFORE it listens. On some models, it does not start transmitting or listening till you activate it via saying "hi TV"

How exactly would it hear you say "hi TV" if it wasn't always listening?

It starts recording when you say Hi TV. Just like Siri starts recording when you say Hey Siri when the iPhone is plugged in.

Cable is hardly a reason to not include the new connector. Samsung has done bolder things like skipping on MuSD and user replaceable battery. With the cable is so cheap to replace, I don't see cable being the reason.

I smell Samsung bias in your posts. Makes me think if it could it be Korean pride just as in folks in South Korea favoring national brands.

----------

I did say rounded sides, didn't mention the finishing and buttons.
If rounded sides is the similarity in discussion, then there were plenty of phones before the Samsung one that had rounded sides including the iPhone.

Not to say that I don't see similarities, but iPhone 6 doesn't seem like an adaption of the Samsung design. The profile photo make it clear that the design is very much different.

It would be a lie if I said I favor Samsung as most of my current devices are Apple and only my TV is a Samsung which I got for free. Unlike many of the trolls here, I do not bash Apple, I do enjoy my Apple products more than I ever enjoyed my previous Samsung products. I could name a list of my bad experiences with Samsung here.

And my comment was not meant to defend Samsung. Many people in general are reluctant to changes and most people pay the marked-up price for a cable at Best Buy even if they can get one for much lower everywhere else. Just in this forum alone, there was countless angry people when Apple changed to Lightning, I was personaly very happy when they even if I already owned 10 30-pin cables.

I never meant to say that the iPhone 6 was inpired by the Ativ S in no way. They do not look alike at all. I only posted the picture to point out that this is not Samsung's first rounded sides.

Yes...because they are listening 24/7 for you to say those words. That's what the controversy surrounded, not the stuff you say when you actually want it to hear you. But the stuff it hears while waiting for you to say those activation words.

no, thats not the controversy.

the controversy was that the "always listening" technology was always transmitting what you are saying to their servers.

this is a myth and untrue.

the "always listening" is the same as google or other voice activated technologies "always listening". The microphone is always on, and the device is set to an internal keyword. until this keyword is issued, no communication is done between your device and the home servers.

this is the same way that "ok google" works. The same way siri basically works (except no always listening, its button activated). same way that even finder works these days.

"always listening" does NOT mean always transmitting

I may hop on the s6 edge. Looks amazing, just like my 6plus but more specs. Decisions decisions.

Samsung has done a gorgeous job on design with the Galaxy S6! I love the back of the S6 because there is no antenna lines cross it! I guess they place it on the top and bottom instead of cross the back face like the iPhone 6 did. That really sold it for me!

If the price comes down; I going switch to the Galaxy S6 Black unless the 6S also hides the antennas like in the 5S model.

Have to see what the reviews say too! But Apple needs to step up now on design since they are now in the corner with Samsung being now the leader of the pack!

With due respect (is respect due?), I'm sure it'll be a nice phone and hopefully that horrible TouchWiz UI is enhanced and optimized and cleaned up because it's a mess (and yes I know you can download launchers).

Anyone in their RIGHT MIND cannot sit here and say that the upcoming S6 isn't a near blatant copy of the iPhone 6/+. Guys, come on, you can argue that it's not a copy until your blue in the face. Its quite clear to everyone what Samsung is doing, and HAS been doing or years. They are trying so desperately to take the reins.

Sure Apple has copied from Samsung (in my opinion to a MUCH lesser degree) and Samsung has copied from Apple (to a much more obvious degree), but at the end of the day, Apple has been and will always be 10 steps ahead.

Lol. Apple is not in a corner. There can be several great phones on the market. The s6 is newer thus shinier. I agree Samsung did a great job. It would have been perfect if they left the sd card in there.

Samsung has a good and I mean GOOD track record of copying everybody and hardly every coming up with anything of their own accord. All they do as far as i see is wait for people to do something, criticise it to death the when they see how popular it is they copy it and then get stuck in with litigation for ever and counter suing till a settlement is reached of they ground the other firm into the ground and pay a pittance as token of admitting they were in the wrong. Then they start again.
they did it with HTC and many MANY others

That's same for Apple. What did Apple come up with on their own??

Samsung Pay, are you kidding me?

Hmm...Didn't Apple buy out the technology for Apple Pay?

And since when did they have a trademark on the name "Pay"?

Yeah, its similar, but Samsung is allowed to compete-and if there is no trademark, why not? Unless you think App Store is defensible...

At the end of the day, the only reason everyone is screaming at Samsung being plagiarizers is because they have officially replicated nearly EVERYTHING they spent millions of dollars mocking.

So pointing this out isn't insecurity; it's karma.

Thats going to be a big change in October of this year. Apple skates to where the puck where its going to be, not where it is right now.

Apple skated to where the puck is supposed to be, not where it actually will be.

Latest estimates are that only 2/3 of USA POS terminals will be converted to chip by the deadline this Fall. And even some of those that are converted, will be missing NFC but still have magswipe capability.

Remember, it took years for other countries to convert to EMV chip + PIN, and many of them had governments mandating it. In the US, it's voluntary, and smaller merchants might not have enough fraud to make them rush to replace their terminals. (E.g. how much card fraud do knitting shops have? )
