It's 2016 ... where people sync over a wire. Not really a crazy thing.
It is a very odd thing to do though. You sync stuff plenty fast enough via Wi-Fi these days.

I don't think I have used a cable to sync anything on my phone for the last 3-4 years.

Remember, the original discussion came about whether Samsung's feature of expandability is a good feature or not. Some criticized it due to slow sd card speeds. But I checked some of the latest sd cards and the speeds seem very good. Now I'm wondering if people think wifi speeds are good enough, then it seems an sd card in Samsung's phone would be fine. Which brings back to the conclusion Samsung's move of an expandability option is great and desirable (though they still should have offered a 128gb internal option for those that wanted it).

If they go oled I hope it will be as good as advertised. Imo I think they should go micro led but the tech is still new.

I think most if not all have said Samsung Galaxy phones have good/great/best displays. But that doesn't mean the iPhone has terrible displays.
If / when Apple goes oled, I think it will be as good as whatever Samsung has at that time. Or at least close.

Indeed, USB2? what's this, 2005? If I have a 128GB iPhone, I'd rather sync via USB 3 in cases where I had to reset the phone or get a new one, and transfer entire 128GB backup. Or If I need to constantly transfer HD/4K movies that I recorded from the phone, for example. I'd be much faster than wifi/cellular, not to mention no risk of going over data caps.

But I guess USB 3 cuts into Apple margins and we are stuck with 2005 tech.

Wifi Direct + Bluetooth. No issues here, but I know I'm not the norm. USB3 is in the iPad Pro. I'm sure it's coming to next iPhone.

Seems crazy to whine and gripe about a technology that's decades old when newer, as fast or faster technologies exist.

Like the guy above me said - I have synced via USB in years. iTunes is a hub for music and movie playing in my house, not how I manage my mobile devices.

Lol ... okay. You don't use it ... so something must be wrong with anyone else that does. Good logic.

Can only share my experience. Take it how you will.

Point being, a company shouldn't be penalized for trying to move forward because some are stuck behind.

Picked mine up Monday and realized I accidentally bought the Edge instead of the regular S7. After a few days, I still don't see any benefit to the edge but it does look nice. Overall, battery life was awful at first but now that the phone has "settled in", its extremely competent. Don't know that it beats my 6S Plus in life yet, but I'm pleased overall.

Still haven't had a chance to put the camera through its paces. That's my main focus. Overall, its a Samsung device. Doesn't feel or act much differently than the Note 5 or GS6 I had. And there's still AT&T bloat I can't remove. I've also been asked if I want to use a dozen of so Samsung/Carrier features and it's getting annoying. I think I turned most of them off at this point.

I'd say, if you're an Android fan this is a great phone. Doesn't really change anything though and it isn't a revolutionary device by any stretch. Just an improved iteration of last year's model.

So it's better than last year's stand out device... awesome..

So just a good S model upgrade in your opinion?

My previous Samsungs never ran as well as my last two iPhones. Regardless of what the on-paper specs said. And 3gb onboard storage seems like a slap in the face to US users. It may have changed, but I seem to remember some apps/games did not perform well when ran from the sdcard. I am not clear on all of it after a few years. Just my recollection. So, it would seem 32gb may not be enough as memory needs increase. May be wrong on that but all AFAIK and IMHO. :)

I picked one up, got it 3 days ago. As mentioned battery life was horrid 1st 2 days, seems to have settled today. I did a side by side test with 6s+ fingerprint sensor. They finally caught up with apple. Works to fast.
All and all its a nice phone. Maybe apple will realize what most people like from android and use it in the iphone 7. Then ill come back

So the S7 has caught up with the iPhone in terms of polish, battery life and finger print scanner. That's nice. However do we really think that Apple are going to stand still with the iPhone 7 and welcome Samsung to the perch? I don't think so. Apple will move ahead again with the iPhone 7 leaving the android OEM's to play catch up again. This happens all the time. Apple releases the non S model, the industry hails it as the leading smartphone. The android OEM's then play catch up. By the time the S model is released, the industry say that Apple is lagging behind and that x android phone is now better. Then Apple release the next non S model and the cycle starts all over again.

I agree... Sammy set the bar as Apple has to surpass or die.. Apple will pull it off, but remember its always gonna be cat and dog.. iPhone comes out September, Note 6 in November, will take the torch back, S8 in march take another lead, and the cycle continues iPhone 7s has to take in back in 2017

Anybody buying or bought the S7/S7 edge? Got to admit it looks a fantastic device in person.

Got the S7 Edge in gold. Not blingy. Sold my 6S Plus. Unless you see, feel and use the S7 (Edge in my case), you can't appreciate how good it is. I have had many phones, including both Android and Apple and this phone is at the top of the list.

U really think Samsung will hand over their crown jewel screen technology to their main rival. . It will be 2 yr old display tech at best, which to be fair is still better then current iPhone screens, so it's still an Improvement.

No Apple will leap frog with micro-led. Let Samsung keep their technology.

Great, so you expect the iPhone 7 to have as good a low light camera, Wireless charging, SD Card capability, Official waterproofing, Curved Screen & Quad HD AMOLED screen?

Well good luck with all those wishes, let's hope you are right, and Apple offer all of this AND more as you are predicting.
