What did they add? Expandable storage after taking it away? No 3-D Touch? No removable battery? If this is what blows people away, then they shouldn't be considering an iPhone.

A better camera, a better design, always on display, further waterproofing, expandable storage (re-adding it does count), improved processor and more ram and a bigger battery(unlike Apple who will insist on smaller batteries due to the 'need' for a thinner phone.

When Apple adds half of that to their phones its "Innovative" and amazing.

I will probably never buy a Galaxy phone, but I appreciate when they bring out a solid update, especially when recent Apple updates have been quite boring.

16GB for almost a decade while the rest of the industry is at 32gb, it's almost reaching Martin Shkreli levels of greed.

I get that Apple was trying to increase their profit margins from 38% to 40%, awesome go for it, and they want to force people to pay $100 more for their iPhones, awesome go for it, but make me pay $100 for awesome new features, not to upgrade that insulting 16gb
You're right.
I'm surprised Mr. Cook hasn't already offered Shkreli $100 million in Apple shares to join the company!

What I love about this phone are due to 5 things
1) Camera- EDIT: 1.7 f is good but larger lens with blurry background...higher f would be smaller lens better depth. Put something like 4..and we got camera killer on the loose. Not only that...when i re-watched the commercial...I was surprised that they have a good low light capability....at least from watching the commercial. I wonder how high the iso can go. The bad part: Why did they DOWNGRADE from 16 mp to 12 for rear? I wonder how many mp is on the front? I hope not 8mp. Then again..it's 12mp dual pixel.

2) WaterRESISTANT (edited).- Yes, it was from s5..but I believe they enhanced it by having it 68m?..i think. Anyway, I'm tired having my iphone in my pocket trying to protect from getting wet. Just with this capability, I can film during raining day!

3) SD storage...no need to explain there...and i'm glad they are coming back with storage.

4) Gear 360 with VR...okay...i can make movies with this.....I'm not sure how it would cost for head piece.
5) Samsung's willingness to open their damn mind and take risk.

Yes indeed.

Especially when the new S7 Edge has significant advances and far more resources than the iPhone has.

HUGE battery, 4GB RAM, Memory Expansion Bay supporting a whopping 200 GB!

A new 5.5" display in a phone that's smaller and lighter than the portly iPhone 6S Plus.

And so much more. I just did a side by side specifications comparison on GSM ARENA which resulted in the iPhone looking awfully dated to be kind.

Apple has its work cut out for it if they hope to compete solely on which is the superior phone.

Android runs fast smooth Lag Free and better on my Nexus 6P than iOS 9.x.x does.

The disappointing experience with the two iPhone 6S Plus models I bought a few months ago only makes Samsung look better.

I wonder if Apple will catch up with iPhone 7?
Can we, as apple users, admit that they got some great features?

And while it's not new, I'd add Samsung Pay. You mean you can make secure NFC payments anywhere there's a magnetic strip swiper....not just the handful of companies that accept Apple Pay?!? That is HUGE!!!!!!

One thing I'll never understand is why they have to put "Samsung" on the front of their devices. It looks tacky. One thing I love about the iPhone is that all you have is an Apple Logo and the word "iPhone" on the back of the device.

I agree with everybody's experience being different. I hear great things about the reliability of the hardware...but I haven't found Apple's hardware to be any different. Like my current iPhone 6. The battery on it drops randomly and in big chunks. I run with my phone and used it to run half marathons using Endomondo and Pandora with 40%+ remaining. Now the battery drains completely in a 40 minute run. The Genius Bar says nothing is wrong with the battery. I've deleted and restored every app. Still doesn't work right.

I've loved the Apple products I've had in the past....but it feels like recently I paid more for their past reputation than the quality of their current products.

I'd recommend a factory reset for battery issues like that, or fully calibrate the battery, since I've heard that it has worked for others.

I will agree that it does feel, in a way, that we are paying for Apple's past reputation. 2015 was disappointing to me, but so far 2016 is looking up with Apple fighting for our privacy and the product lineup with the 5se and 7/7+ along with the new Apple Watch and possibly a TV streaming service may really make 2016 great. Combined with these products, if Apple can make great software that is dang near perfect and come packed with features, they will have one killer 2016.

That's true! Secure NFC is secure. +1 for your comment. I love using apple stuff..but i'm not gonna be blind and not recognize what is good or not.

A true Apple fan could never admit that.
why not?

The new Samsung S7 Edge has truly captured my attention. The more I read about it the more I'm both impressed and convinced I'll be pre-ordering on Mar 11th.

This is one smartphone that truly stands out this year. By acquiring one early I'll have the fun of the experience and be even more interested in what Apple does with the iPhone 7. I wonder what Apple's thinking at this point. Now that they too, have seen the S7 series and have inside knowledge of iPhone 7 it would be fun to know what they're thinking.

Time will tell, it's just a matter of months. I sure wouldn't buy an iPhone 6S series phone right now. They're too far off the mark. Apple trailing the competition is not good. Especially with their jumbo ego.

I've never been this....captivated. As someone mentioned...it got NFC...nice cam 360 with VR...and water resistance....of course it's not water proof.

I'm shocked how they havent dropped touchwiz for vanilla android. I get that touch wiz is getting better and better, BUT why not go with the BEST with vanilla? =/

You can not see most of touch wiz by just using a different default home screen launcher. No need to root.

I'm very excited to see what Apple does with the iPhone 7. So far 2016 is starting off very competitively with LG providing what may be the most innovative phone in the last couple years and the GS7 being a solid evolution of the GS6. Apple better blow the competition out of the water this year if they want to continue being a market leader.

Well, come June there will be an S7 in my hand. Saw a few phones that piqued my interest, but the S7 hit all the right notes. Second batch will be out by June and I'll be jumping on it. Pop on Apex Launcher and I'll be a happy camper. Good job Sammy.
I'm excited too..but from your perspective...could elaborate what your interests are?

Honestly I'm surprised that there are so many Samsung fans hanging out on a Mac centric forum.

That aside 4gb of ram doesn't matter. The OS is different so it can't be compared directly.

And it's interesting to see some people saying the new s7 is good because it's lighter. When iPhones are trying to do the same thing by being thinner.

The s7edge does look gorgeous. However to me its form over function.

I also don't understand the drive for smaller bezels. Yes, it makes the device nicer to look at but its at the expense of the contents on the screen. Not a trade off I'm willing to make.
