They're thinner and lighter than the iPads, have longer battery life (11+h); and they actually look good.

Only problem: Android.

Funny. I got rid of my iPhone because it ran iOS. I personally want vanilla Android with this hardware; not TouchWiz. If I want a skin job I'd rather do it myself.

i don't care what anyone says. they all get ideas from each others products..

Where do we live in a world where Touch ID is only available with Apple, never with Samsung...

That's not gonna happen. but it would be nice to think x is only on iPhone..

Muddy waters.... All those reckon this is a great phone, bet half will change their tune when iPhone 6 comes out...

No one can settle. (...except me of course...) I still have my 2012 Macbook Pro and although old, i wouldn't give it up for anything. Shower me with new products, and i'll still turn it away.

It's not like they came up with their software features in a week after iOS 8 was announced.

People here crack me up. They talk as if Samsung waited for WWDC, then copied, coded, tested, and shipped features similar to what Apple has planned all in one week.

How about a front page story on the opening of the new Apple store in Tokyo? Large crowds and Angela Ahrendts in attendance.

i know why this is on front page....because they want apple to see that samsung is near to nonexistent....poor samsung.....you'll be sued again and again till you no longer exist...

Yet another 8" tablet that is designed to be used like a phone?

Image
What makes you think that, the fact it can answer phone calls?
So if I follow your logic, any iMac running Yosemite is also supposed to be a phone?

As for the "you can answer your phone from your tablet", let's see how it's implemented. Though I'm thinking it's a rushed development.

Dear Samsung,

Please stop putting chrome trim on all of your devices.

Sincerely,

Ugly

Yay. Just what we need: Burn-in display... but for tablets this time! Let me experience this burn-in sensation with my PS Vita, S3, and S4. There's a reason Plasma couldn't survive outside of the niche tv-watching fanbase.

Heh :D

“tab s is guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go, and to give it a more premium look, we trimmed it in gold to give it an aura of luxury,” said michael abary, senior vp of marketing for samsung electronics america.

How many tablets has samsung released? I feel like they update them every 2 months......and i've never seen anyone actually buy one.

But i see people still using one, where are those from??

Ans: event/training/gf gift.

Priceless. :p

Samsung has access to decent hardware. It lacks a lot of the polish of the iPad in physical build and unfortunately runs Android. It looks like a pretty good device. If I wanted to use Android I'd probably get one.

----------

The only "tablet" I consider worth it to me is the surface.

iPad, Galaxy tab ect are cool for media. If rather have something I can actually get work done on though

Doing work on a Surface would seriously infuriate me. Why wouldn't you just get a Macbook Air?

Where have I heard that before?

Sidesync is not new and was released last year with the Note 3 but only worked with Samsung laptops. They later made it compatible with any laptop. Apple fans think Apple released it first because they typically only follow Apple news, which is perfectly understandable. Their implementations also differ.

This was the initial version but it eliminated the need to be tethered shortly thereafter.

It's ok...

Looks great and I really like Samsung's designs/devices but I dont care about the fingerprint scanner. I dont not put locks on any of my devices.

That's ok. You're using Android any way so "security" really isn't your thing anyhow, is it?

Kill more birds with less stones as they say.

The surface doesn't take the place of a MacBook Air or Other laptop. In terms of usefulness though for me. A surface can do what I want in an iPad and be portable. Then attaching a keyboard allowa me to work with files and content in a way not possible on iOS devices at least.

Samsung can get their tablets thin, but can't make their "S line" as thin as the iPhone? They are failing... They will FALL once the iPhone 6 is released.

Yeah, Samsung doesn't possibly have the resources of a multi-billion dollar corporation that could ever let it snoop on what apple is planning to do before announcement.

If it had just been one feature I'd agree with you, maybe even two. But the fingerprint reader...the gold...the 64bit processor...the "handoff" features..etc. etc. etc. all of this with a proven track record of infringing Apple's products? Come on now..

Samsung is not innovative. They're thieves. They have done this to MANY different companies before. They try to enter a market, they copy EVERYTHING the market leader does, and then by the time the patent suits wind their way through the courts the infringing devices have already been off the market for some time, replaced by newer unimaginative devices.

It's disgusting.
