Please don't tell me that you believe Samsung implemented this just one week after Apple announced it?They obviously must have been working on it for months. It's actually possible that Apple heard of this feature and decided to implement their own so they can compete on that feature.
Yay. Just what we need: Burn-in display... but for tablets this time! Let me experience this burn-in sensation with my PS Vita, S3, and S4. There's a reason Plasma couldn't survive outside of the niche tv-watching fanbase.
I couldn't care less about the other stuff, but this is the feature that Apple needs to implement for the iPad.Samsung's fingerprint sensor allows multiple users to share a tablet
Where have I heard that before?![]()
Looks great and I really like Samsung's designs/devices but I dont care about the fingerprint scanner. I dont not put locks on any of my devices.

If you're going to run a story about a competing product on MacRumors, at least give it some relevance. Otherwise it's just a promo for a non-Apple product.
That is, tell us why and how this is significant to Apple. How is the product better than Apple's etc.
What does it mean to Apple.
People here crack me up. They talk as if Samsung waited for WWDC, then copied, coded, tested, and shipped features similar to what Apple has planned all in one week.
OMG! So much childs in this forum. Fanboysm is the most imature behaviour of this world. Looks like there are literaly zero adults in this forum. Can you speak aboud competiton without being so full of ****? Every company copies each other. I'm tired of reading fanboys saying that apple IPS LED display is supperior to AMOLED technology, it's like comparing a 1997 Corolla with a Lamborghini Aventador... let's be at least realistic, apple has awesome products, I love the Ipad overall build quality and it's unbeatable so far, but the competitors also have their trophies.
That's ok. You're using Android any way so "security" really isn't your thing anyhow, is it?
I've been expecting a massive security breach on android for years, especially with older 2.x devices, but it hadn't happened ? I've seen as many security issues with iOS as with Android. I don't think security is a good argument for iOS.
True, minus the over exaggerated analogy... The funny thing is most people forget that in 2011 when it was released the HP touchpad could wirelessly connect to a HP pre phone and make and receive phone calls and text messages. Apple didn't invent that.. Competition is good and companies take ideas from each other all the time. The bottom line for me though is that Apple makes the best products and has the best overall ecosystem in my opinion and I like the way my Apple gadgets work.
You have to go digging to even find Apple products on their site. Same thing in the store. You would think its Best Samsung BuyHow many different iPads does the Best Buy site list, and which do they have the most total listings for, the iPad or the Samsung tablets?
Yes, because of all of the enormous security breaches lately in ios affecting millions of people....Security should be Apple's top priority and I doubt it is.
Samsung's competitor-copying department can check some things off their to-do list...
- "thinnest and lightest yet"
- Gold
- Answer phone calls from another device
- Fingerprint scanner
If only they could get them to actually work...
Where have I heard that before?![]()
Of course they did. It won't come out until July, so they have plenty of time to write some half-baked software, since that's all Samsung features end up being.
How many tablets does Samsung actually make? Just for fun I went to Best Buy's website to see how many different such products there are, and I found 23. Twenty three. How is the average consumer ever going to figure out the difference between them all?
They have the Galaxy Tab line, of which there are the 2,3 and 4 generations which are all still apparently sold. Then there's the TabPRO line, and add to that the Note and NotePRO lines. I'm confusing myself just reading all this.
This company would be doing quite a lot to help its sales by consolidating all these product lines, and it wouldn't kill them to better distinguish between them, because they all look the same; and the average, tech-oblivious consumer is just going to be overwhelmed.
Android in a tablet is still no good, but the rest of the specs look great to me.

...what are you talking about? If anyone needs to be worried about security it's google with android.
